1. Do you wash your spouses clothes or does he/she? I do all of the laundry. Mostly because my Fiance overloads the washer or uses WAY to much laundry detergent. It’s just easier for me to do it

2. Do you share cooking during the week, or are you the only one who cooks? I usually try and cook enough meals on my days off that my Fiance doesn’t have to cook when I’m not home.

3. Do you share cleaning chores, or are you the only one who cleans? This depends. My Fiance will do chores around the house if I ask, but I mostly just do them.

4. Do you work full-time? Yes. I also work a part time job.

5. Does your spouse work full-time? Yes.

1. Do you wash your spouses clothes or does he/she? Spouse takes initative on laundry, which includes all our clothes. I help fold.

2. Do you share cooking during the week, or are you the only one who cooks? I do the cooking. I only cook a few times a week. Spouse  hates cooking and is bad at it. 🙂  He’s my sous chef though, helping me do the prep work. He also cleans the kitchen, packs away leftover after we’re finished eating.

3. Do you share cleaning chores, or are you the only one who cleans? I take initative on cleaning. If he sees me start something, he’ll usually join in with something else. Like if he sees me cleaning one of the bathrooms, he’ll start dusting/vacuuming the living room. We go on like this, doing what needs to be done together, until we’re finished.

4. Do you work full-time? Yes.

5. Does your spouse work full-time? Yes.

1. Do you wash your spouses clothes or does he/she? I wash all our clothes. If he’s home, he helps me hang his dress shirts. He puts away his own clothes but I fold them.

2. Do you share cooking during the week, or are you the only one who cooks? During the week I cook, but I also work from home so I can have it almost ready before he walks in the door.

3. Do you share cleaning chores, or are you the only one who cleans? I clean the house because he doesnt have an eye for mess and does a bad job lol. He does the dishes and takes out the trash. He also cleans the toilets because I don’t do toilets ever.

4. Do you work full-time? Yes, but from the house as I work remotely.

5. Does your spouse work full-time? Yes, and he has about a 45 min commute each way.

1. Do you wash your spouses clothes or does he/she?  I do pretty much all the laundry in our household.  Dirty clothes all end up in the same heap on the floor, and I’m better at folding than he is 🙂

2. Do you share cooking during the week, or are you the only one who cooks?  My Fiance is perfectly capable of cooking, but it’s not something he particularly enjoys.  I, on the other hand, love to cook.  I can handle pretty complex recipes and I like trying new things, and he likes the variety.  Our trade-off is that he does all of the dishes.

3. Do you share cleaning chores, or are you the only one who cleans?  We share cleaning chores pretty evenly.  He cleans the toilets, and I clean the bathroom countertops and mirrors.  He sweeps the floors, and I mop.  He moves furniture around so I can vacuum.  Misery loves company, and cleaning isn’t our favorite thing, so we tend to clean together.

4. Do you work full-time?  Yes.

5. Does your spouse work full-time?  Yes.

Well, not quite married yet (3 months to go!) but we are pretty set in our routine:

1. I do the laundry. Fiance hates to do it, and I am know what can go in the dryer/what has to hang dry etc.

2. We both love to cook and are good at it. I typically do most of the grocery shopping or we go together, but it really depends who is busiest a given week. When I am working morning til night during a busy week, he will buy groceries and cook, and vice-versa.

3. I do most of the tidying/cleaning in the main part of the house but he does all the dishes (except for when he is super exhausted/busy and then I will do some too, and he cleans the bathroom.

4. I either work full-time or are in school full-time.

5. He also either works full-time or is in school full-time, with an additional part-time job all the time.

1. Do you wash your spouses clothes or does he/she? We both wash our own, but only because I’m picky. I offer to wash his but he gets to it before I can. I wash the towels, he folds. I wash the sheets, we both fold. Works great for us.

2. Do you share cooking during the week, or are you the only one who cooks? For the most part we share cooking, although DH probably does a bit more than I do because I suck at cooking chicken and fish.

3. Do you share cleaning chores, or are you the only one who cleans? I clean the house, except the half bath toilet (he uses it a ton more than I do) and the stove/oven, he cleans those because he makes a bigger mess on the stove than I do. I do the vaccuming, mopping, dusting and tidying up but he mows the lawn and takes the garbage out.

4. Do you work full-time? I work full time with a 1 hour commute to and from work.

5. Does your spouse work full-time? DH works full time with a 30 minute commute to and from work.

1. Do you wash your spouses clothes or does he/she? Our clothes are put in the hamper together. He does the laundry about 2/3 of the time, I do it the other times.

2. Do you share cooking during the week, or are you the only one who cooks? We are pretty split on cooking. I tend to do more in the summer because I get home earlier, he’ll do more in the winter. He also does all the grocery shopping (I hate it and he wants to go on Sundays at 7 a.m.).

3. Do you share cleaning chores, or are you the only one who cleans? Honestly he is the main cleaner in the house. I work a lot of weekends and nights so he’ll often clean when I’m working. If I’m home we both clean.

4. Do you work full-time? Yes. During the fall I work about 70 hour weeks, and about 50-60 hour weeks in the winter and spring. Only 40 hour weeks in the summer. I also travel a lot with work and work most weekends and some week nights during the academic year.

5. Does your spouse work full-time? He works 40 hours a week.

1. Do you wash your spouses clothes or does he/she? We wash our own clothes unless Im not putting a full load in, then I will ask if he has anything to wash.
2. Do you share cooking during the week, or are you the only one who cooks? I normally cook because I get home earlier but he enjoys cooking so if I don’t feel up to it he will. And when he worked from home, he cooked every night…ahhh I miss that!
3. Do you share cleaning chores, or are you the only one who cleans? Im normally the one who cleans because I have higher cleaning standards. He will help if I ask him to but he won’t usually initiate cleaning on his own.
4. Do you work full-time? Yes- Until our baby arrives in August.
5. Does your spouse work ? Yes

1. Do you wash your spouses clothes or does he/she? We wash our own and he carries my laundry up/down for me if he’s around. I’ve offered to do his but he hasn’t taken me up on it.

2. Do you share cooking during the week, or are you the only one who cooks? If anything he cooks more when he has the time as he enjoys it, but it’s a fairly even split.

3. Do you share cleaning chores, or are you the only one who cleans? We share cleaning duties.

4. Do you work full-time? I don’t but I have health issues that make me unable to work, I’m at doctor/pt appointments almost every day so it’s not like I’m able to work full time around the house.

5. Does your spouse work full-time? DH works 6 days a week, 10-12 hours a day.

1. We both wash both of our clothes, but DH knows to only wash my underwear, T-shirts, jeans, etc. and not touch my nice stuff after an unfortunate shrinking incident of something that was handwash only that got thrown in the dryer lol.

2. I cook 99% of the time.

3. We share, but I do waaaaaay more. DH will help clean the kitchen and pick up his clothes, but I do the bulk of the housework.

4. I work 40 hours a week.

5. DH is a full-time PhD student, and between class, research, and clinical rotations is busy at least 40 hours a week.

1. Do you wash your spouses clothes or does he/she?

We both wash all the household linens and share responsiblity for the clothing. But he tends to shy away from mine because he doesn’t want to mess them up.

2. Do you share cooking during the week, or are you the only one who cooks?

We share pretty equally. He loves to cook and so do I. I may do a tad more but that’s just cause I enjoy it so much. He’s usually doing some other household chore while I cook. Or making me cocktails! That I can live with.

3. Do you share cleaning chores, or are you the only one who cleans?

We share cleaning. I also consider yard work cleaning since it’s general home maintenance, I pooper scoop and he mows. We both work in the flower bed. Typically we have a goal of cleaning an area and knock it out together.

4. Do you work full-time?

Yes.

5.  Does your spouse work full-time?

Yes.

SO and I aren’t married but have lived together for a couple years.

1. Do you wash your spouses clothes or does he/she?

I usually do both of our laundry, but he will do his if he has time or needs it done before I’ve done it.

2. Do you share cooking during the week, or are you the only one who cooks?

I cook the day he works, he cooks when he is off, and we cook together when we are both off

3. Do you share cleaning chores, or are you the only one who cleans?

He would argue with me on this one. I would say it is 60/40 split with me doing a little bit more. In general we are great about splitting chores

4. Do you work full-time?

Yes, I work 40 hours a week M-F. But I am a teacher and have  summers off

5. Does your spouse work full-time?

Yep- but he works shift work. 12 hour shifts, 3 days on and 3 off. So the days he works he is exhausted and doesn’t have the energy to be doing stuff around the house.

1. I wash both of our clothes. We both share a laundry basket, and I certainly don’t trust him to wash mine!

2. I only cook one night out of the week. He cooks the other 6. A man after my own heart!

3. We share chores pretty evenly. We both tidy up as needed. He does gardening and gives the cat his meds. I clean the floors, sheets, laundry.

4/5. We both work 40 hours a week and have Fridays off.
