1. Do you wash your spouses clothes or does he/she? We wash our own.

2. Do you share cooking during the week, or are you the only one who cooks? I do a bit more of the cooking, and we also do a “whoever doesn’t cook, cleans up” deal.

3. Do you share cleaning chores, or are you the only one who cleans? We share chores.

4. Do you work full-time? Yes

5. Does your spouse work full-time? He has multiple jobs (self employed, works from home) but all told he works at least 40hr a week.

DanniBee83:  We’re not married yet but have been living together 2+ years so I’ll play 🙂

1. Do you wash your spouses clothes or does he/she?

We usually each do our own laundry but mostly because we only have one day off together and don’t want to spend it doing ALL our laundry at once. I do mine on my time, he does his when I’m at work on Mondays! If he has a tricky laundry issue (stains on shirts… all the time ladies…) I wash it for him or if we’re traveling, I’ll do all our laundry to be able to pack.

2. Do you share cooking during the week, or are you the only one who cooks?

I do most of the cooking (he does lots and lots of prep/chopping/cleaning up after) and we’ll do dishes together. Mondays (his day off, my first day back at work) he sometimes cooks which is always an adventure. We grocery shop together but he ends up paying most of the time.

3. Do you share cleaning chores, or are you the only one who cleans?

We split cleaning but usually do it at the same time, he has allergies so I do more dusty things like vacuuming/dusting/etc… and he does bathrooms which works out great for us.

4. Do you work full-time?

Yep, sometimes 50+ hrs

5. Does your spouse work full-time?

Yep, sometimes 50+ hrs too

Pretty much all of our chores are shared, I do more of the laundry though because I’m better at it lol. Currently I’m working part-time and he’s working full time, mostly from home, but that doesn’t mean he can do all the chores! Who’s been working more has changed a few times in our relationship, basically whoever is working less does chores a bit more.

One other thing is that the yardwork and gardening is all his domain, I rarely end up helping with that.

1. Do you wash your spouses clothes or does he/she?

I do most of the laundry (mine, his, kids, etc)

2. Do you share cooking during the week, or are you the only one who cooks?

I’m the one that cooks, occasionally, we’ll cook together.  However, if we’re heating up leftovers, he gets that together for us.

3. Do you share cleaning chores, or are you the only one who cleans?

I do most of the cooking, cleaning, laundry, etc. but my husband helps with anything whenever I ask him to.  He will also change over the laundry (from washer to the dryer) and help put away items if he sees it needs to be done

4. Do you work full-time?

No, I’m a Stay-At-Home Mom

5. Does your spouse work full-time?

Yes, 40 hours a week (2.5 days in the office, 2.5 days from home)

1. Do you wash your spouses clothes or does he/she? He washes his clothes and I wash my clothes.

2. Do you share cooking during the week, or are you the only one who cooks? I mostly cook. I am home 2 hours earlier than my husband. If I wait for him to come home, dinners super late so thats more of a convenience thing. He cooks on weekends or if I’m out later.

3. Do you share cleaning chores, or are you the only one who cleans? He mostly cleans. He’s super OCD about cleaning so I let him do his thing.

4. Do you work full-time? Yes.

5. Does your spouse work full-time? Yes.

Not married yet but have been living together 2 years…

1. All our laundry goes together, and we probably split doing it about 50/50.

2. I do most of the cooking, but he will every now and then.

3. We have a cleaning lady every other week (only just started this a month ago, before I was doing about 90% of the cleaning and just couldn’t keep up anymore). I will vaccum in between her visits when the dog hair gets out of control. And he does the trash every week, along with most of the outside stuff (yard work).

4. I work full time.

5. He also works full time (40 hours) but works longer days and is normally off on Fridays, unless working OT.

Hello!!! Not married yet, but living toegther for a longish time.

1. Do you wash your spouses clothes or does he/she?

I do 99% of the time. Our laundry is not separated and I bring everything to the laundromat together, and then separate the clothes by color/fabric once there, but not separating his/mine. I do separate them when I am folding them, so it makes it easier to put them back once home.

2. Do you share cooking during the week, or are you the only one who cooks?

I cook about 60% of the time. He is great at cooking too, so he does it quite often.

3. Do you share cleaning chores, or are you the only one who cleans?

We mostly share. We do it at the same time, usually on Saturday or Sunday morning, then we reward ourselves with going out. He is actually more OCD than me, so he made me better under that point of view. I absolutely do the kitchen (dishes, stove, floors) all the time, cause I like it. We alternate (or do together) bedrooms, bath and living room.

4. Do you work full-time?

I do, 9-5:30 on weekdays, some random weekend too. Some months I do actually leave at 6:30, sometimes even 7, but not that often anymore.

5. Does your spouse work full-time?

He does too, but usually works from home on Thursday, although not every week.

1. I do ALL the laundry. Including mine, his, my child, & his child. We’re a blended family.

2. I do most of the cooking. Since the weather has warmed up he grills on the weekend, during the week I do the grilling. We grill a lot. 🙂

3. I clean. He picks up after himself (most of the time). Our children have chores, so they clean more than he does.

4. He works full time plus some, usually 60 hours a week.

5. I work part time. I just graduated from Nursing school, so this will change in the near future.

Extra: My fiance worked like a mad man to provide for our family while I was in school. He is also a Southern man and has the mind set that the woman takes care of the house while the man pays the bills. I’ve gladly taken care of the house while I was working part time however this will change when I go back to work full time.

1. We mostly do our own laundry because we have different cycles. I have TONS of clothes so I mostly wait until they’re all dirty and spend an entire day doing laundry every 2-3 weeks. He doesn’t have as much clothing so he has to do a load every few days. We take turns doing household laundry.

2. I cook 3-4 nights per week, he cooks 1-2 nights, the other nights we just snack or eat out. He tends to make more complex meals with leftovers that last a few days, whereas I’m better at whipping up something quick, so it balances out.

3. He usually spends one weekend day deep cleaning every week (washing the floors, the fridge/stove, etc.). I clean a little every day (dishes, tidying up, etc.) and I deep-clean the bathroom every 2 weeks.

4 & 5. We both work full-time. We’ll also adjust our duties when one of us is really busy, e.g. he’ll do the dishes one week if I’m particularly busy.

1. Do you wash your spouses clothes or does he/she?

We both wash whatever needs to be washed.

2. Do you share cooking during the week, or are you the only one who cooks?

I do most of the cooking, but we don’t cook everyday, some days ordering take-out is just easier.

3. Do you share cleaning chores, or are you the only one who cleans?

Hmmm…I do most of the cleaning, he will help, but I literally have to tell him something needs to be done in order for him to do it.  He mostly only does the trash, load/unload dishwasher, and a quick vacuum.

4. Do you work full-time?

Yes

5. Does your spouse work full-time?

Yes

Not married for another 3 months, but we live together and have our household set up.

I do the laundry for both of us.

I cook some nights, but most nights he does it. I’m not into cooking, and he doesn’t mind it.

I do all the cleaning because I have Friday afternoons off and have the time to do it. We both work full time, but sometimes he works overtime and my hours range from 36 to 40 hours per week and I have a 2.5 day weekend every week, so why not do all the cleaning.
