1. Do you wash your spouses clothes or does he/she? We both wash the laundry, we fold/put away our own. (I’m terrible at this & it typically just piles up on the bed in the spare room!)

2. Do you share cooking during the week, or are you the only one who cooks?  I do all the cooking.  Truth be told I’m a little envious of the ladies whos hubbys like to cook or help!

3. Do you share cleaning chores, or are you the only one who cleans?  I do most of the cleaning, (he’d disagree or say it’s because I do most of the mess making).  But, I’m terrible at staying on top of housework, so we also have a housekeeper that comes in every other friday.

4. Do you work full-time? Yes

5. Does your spouse work full-time? Yes

We’re not married yet, but we’ve been living together for 5 years, so we have our household routine pretty much figured out.

1. Do you wash your spouses clothes or does he/she?

I do about 95% of all of the laundry but if he’s home he will usually help me fold/hang things up.

2. Do you share cooking during the week, or are you the only one who cooks?

He does about 90% of the cooking. I hate cooking and he doesn’t mind it as much.

3. Do you share cleaning chores, or are you the only one who cleans?

We share the cleaning chores. He is great about helping and does all the “gross” chores, but I usually have to ask/remind him.

4. Do you work full-time?

Yes – about 40-50 hours

5. Does your spouse work full-time?

Yes – about 50 hours normally and about 70-80 hours during his “busy season” – during busy season our usual balance changes.

1. We wash our own clothes.

2. Sometimes I cook, sometimes he cooks, sometimes we just order takeout or heat up something easy.

3. Both of us clean the house. We don’t divide things up on a list or anything. If one of us sees something that needs cleaning, we just do it, like adults should.

4. I work full-time.

5. He works full-time.

1. Do you wash your spouses clothes or does he/she? We each wash our own clothes. He washes his towel and the kitchen towels, and I wash our bedding.

2. Do you share cooking during the week, or are you the only one who cooks? We both cook depending on who gets home first or what is in the fridge. It’s pretty 50/50.

3. Do you share cleaning chores, or are you the only one who cleans? I clean the living room, dining room, basement, and dust the bedroom. DH cleans the kitchen and the bathrooms and vaccuums the bedroom.

4. Do you work full-time? I work full time with a part time job.

5. Does your spouse work full-time? DH works full time and coaches.

1. We each wash our own clothes and we pretty much trade off on the baby’s clothes, based on who’s …not with the baby at that given moment.

2. We share cooking, although I tend to do it more because I enjoy it more. He’s always up for it, though.

3. Ah no. We have a housekeeper. This is important for our marriage!

1. Do you wash your spouses clothes or does he/she?

I do almost all the washing but some days he will do a load if he desperately needs something.

2. Do you share cooking during the week, or are you the only one who cooks?

I’m the only one who cooks.

3. Do you share cleaning chores, or are you the only one who cleans?

We both clean fairly equally, I probably do a bit more as in I always do the vacuuming, mopping and clean the showers/sinks but he does do all the yard work and other chores here and there.

4. Do you work full-time?

I work part-time, 20-26 hours per week.

5. Does your spouse work full-time?

He works full time, 38 hours per week.

I think our chores are fairly equal 🙂

1. Do you wash your spouses clothes or does he/she? He does his own laundry, but every now and then I’ll help him out if I see that his hamper is overflowing and if I have extra time on my hands. He never expects it of me, though.

2. Do you share cooking during the week, or are you the only one who cooks? I’m the only one who actually “cooks,” but my husband will pick up carry-out, take us out for dinner, or fend for himself (throw together a sandwich or whatever) if I’m working late or don’t feel like cooking.

3. Do you share cleaning chores, or are you the only one who cleans? I do the majority of the cleaning (I insist on it), but my husband always offers to help and always cleans up after himself (never leaves dirty dishes or clothes laying around).

4. Do you work full-time? No, I work between 15-25 hours per week. Normally I’m also taking a couple of classes but I’m currently off for summer.

5. Does your spouse work full-time? Yes. He works 6, sometimes 7 days per week, so I am beyond happy to take care of most of the household responsibilities.

1. Do you wash your spouses clothes or does he/she?

DH does most of the wash – he also does it more frequenty (he wears scrubs to work) so he just throws mine in. I will do laundry every so often.

2. Do you share cooking during the week, or are you the only one who cooks?

He does most of the cooking. Safer that way.

3. Do you share cleaning chores, or are you the only one who cleans?

We share. I enjoy cleaning.

4. Do you work full-time? Yes

5. Does your spouse work full-time? Yes

1. Do you wash your spouses clothes or does he/she?

I do most of the washing- we have one wash basket for all our clothes, if I ask him to put a load on/bring it in he will (he never folds though!!)

2. Do you share cooking during the week, or are you the only one who cooks?

My Fiance does marojity of the cooking, when we moved in he was a uni student and I worked a 50 hour week so he did the cooking and this just continued once he got a ft job. On weekends I do cook up batches of dinners that can be frozen for nights when he is too busy/late home to cook.

3. Do you share cleaning chores, or are you the only one who cleans?

we share- he does the dishes and the kitty litter and I do everything else (our comprimise, he does the two jobs I HATE in exchange for not having to do anything else- although he does take the bins out and mow the lawns too)

4. Do you work full-time?

I work ft and study ft

5. Does your spouse work full-time?

he works ft aswell

1. We wash our own clothes. Although this weekend I went on a frenzy and did his laundry with mine. Or he pays his daughter to wash his.

2. Neither of us does much cooking, he’s gone at work most nights so I make myself something

3. I do most of the cleaning. The messyness bothers me more than him. He will do dishes though and he takes out trash, clesn the lizard cage, and clean up dog poop though

4-5. I work ~40 hours a week, he works 50-60.

1. Do you wash your spouses clothes or does he/she?  Laundry is one of my favorite chores (like another PP!); I find it very cathartic. I do all our laundry from start to finish. I prefer dividing darks/lights/delicates/etc. and I can be sure to do full loads when we combine clothes. More environmentally friendly!

2. Do you share cooking during the week, or are you the only one who cooks?  I consider myself very lucky that I found someone who likes cooking!! He cooks an amazing breakfast for us every morning (eggs, spinach, sausage, salsa, tea, juice/milk), takes care of most of our lunches, and takes on head chef roles for most dinners. I’m more the baker in the family: pancakes on weekends, breads/cakes/cookies/etc. for celebrations… I’ll happily be his sous chef as need be, but for the most part, cooking is his gig!

3. Do you share cleaning chores, or are you the only one who cleans?  I’m the neat freak of the two of us, so cleaning is my job. He’s good about taking out the trash and recycles, and he does a lot of dishes, but otherwise I’m the one tackling the floors, bathrooms, counters, etc.

4. Do you work full-time?  Yup, and fingers crossed that continues! I’m switching jobs soon and want to become a teacher, so I think in summers I’ll take on more household roles (like cooking) since I’ll have more time.

5. Does your spouse work full-time?  Yes, and that’s not changing any time soon. He’s already working 6-day weeks quite often, pulling anywhere from 8 to 12 hours each day, and he wants to continue in the same career trajectory so it’s unlikely to change!

1. Do you wash your spouses clothes or does he/she?

I wash and fold both our clothes, typically. There are times where he’ll do a load if I’ve been slacking on laundry or if he needs something particular washed (like his whites) without complaining or saying anything to me. If he sees laundry that needs to be folded when he gets home from work, he usually will help do it.

2. Do you share cooking during the week, or are you the only one who cooks?

I usually cook. But if I’m not in the mood, sick, etc., he will. We go out to dinner on the weekends. He’ll also do the dishes if I’m not in the mood, sick, etc.

3. Do you share cleaning chores, or are you the only one who cleans?

I clean 90% of the time.

4. Do you work full-time?

No.

5. Does your spouse work full-time?

Yes. Usually he works 12 hour days and will even go into his lab on the weekend for a few hours to get some work done.

** For what it’s worth, we also don’t have any kids at the moment.

1. Our laundry is combined. I do the laundry 75% of the time.

2. We share cooking/clean-up. If he cooks, I wash the dishes and vice versa. If we both cook for one meal, we both clean up.

3. We share other cleaning responsibilities.

4. I work full time.

5. He works full time, and goes to grad school 2 nights a week as well.
