@Firemansgirl:  Yep, I’m the other crazy person in here.  Haven’t seen any others from our board (yet)… Closing next week if all goes well Smile

@Firemansgirl:  Yes it’s crazy but it can be done.

I moved to a new state, started a new job, bought a house, and got married all within a span of 3 months! It was utterly insane.

@Firemansgirl:  Thanks!  We ended up closing yesterday.  I don’t suppose anybody can recommend a good moving company?  We’ve got to get an antique dining room set from Lousiana to Virginia…

Not an August bride, but I did it.  It was a busy year for us! Took us 6 months to find out house then another 2 months to close.  Closing was roughly 100 days before the wedding.

Good luck to you all!

Yes, but because I don’t make enough to be approved for a mortgage, I doubt we’ll end up in a house before the wedding. Barf.

actually I needed to sell my house, but waited until after everything was done; too much at once, and the added thrill of renovating my husband’s townhome (took 6 months and finally done!).

Listed my house last Wednesday (after a few issues, like the pine tree that fell on it, courtesy of Sandy), and my realtor called this morning and said there might be an offer tomorrow.

Can only deal with so much at once; it all came together in the end.

We’re not sure if we’re going to be buying a house/condo or just renting, but our lease is up next June and we are determined to move to the city then.  Currently my commute to work is 1.5 hours and FI’s is 10 minutes – once we move it will be the opposite LoL (and before you ask why don’t we meet halfway, all the towns in between are really terrible.  Like get murdered terrible).

@elysion:  And we don’t want that.  It’s not quite that bad here, though the part of the city I’m in currently does have something of a bad reputation; the trip across town will be something of a step up for me.

@Firemansgirl:  Yikes, no.  We did the house a year before the wedding.  I think I would have had a massive stroke if I had to do both at the same time.

We’re partially moved in and tackling the renovations.  Goodbye leaky bathroom, hello new floors.  And cabinets.  And walls…

We bought our house a few months before we got engaged, so we’ll be living here for 2 years by the time we get married! It is really stressful, so I feel for you ladies who are wedding planning at the same time. Good luck!
