My mom and I found one at Nordstrom that we both really liked. We also looked some at T Carolyn Fashions (http://www.tcarolyn.com) up near 1960/Champions Forest. They had a lot of dresses but nothing that really struck either of us.

My Mom hasn’t officially started looking (I need to find my bridesmaids dresses first), but we went to a store in Uptown Park that had some beautiful MOB dresses.

We shopped at Dillard’s, Macy’s, Etc.  My mom was able to find something beautiful that isn’t too “matronly”

I went to a wedding last week and the mother of the bride’s dress was AMAZING!  I asked where she got it and she told me she tried on many different dresses in the Houston area…  found what she wanted.. and then when to a place called the “Country Bride”..  It’s in Louise,Texas.  She said it was nearly 1/2 the price!! It is kinda out in the country, so they don’t up-charge the dress to pay for their location.  I am going to give them a try… here is their website… see if they carry your dress!  www.countrybridelouise.com

Hope that helps!

We ordered from JCrew. My mom is tiny and it’s hard to find stuff that fits as the small sizes tend to go fast. It’s perfect simple elegance that is not matronly.
