This is on behalf of someone , not for myself as Im not interested in this name but what do u think of the name Lainey for a girl?
Not short for anything, just Lainey by itself. With a very normal last name.

I have a cousin who goes by Laney, her full name is Delaney. I think it’s pretty cute.

I think it’s a really cute name:)

It’s alright. It reminds me of a 90s movie.. She’s All That I think it was called.
Kinda cutesy/quirky but could be worse lol.

It’s very cute as a name for a girl especially through early adulthood. But, I think Elaine or the PP Delaney give more options. Parents can call her Lainey from the start, but it allows her to use something a little different if she’s having trouble with people taking her seriously as she’s trying to climb through corporate ranks.

Its cute, not for me but I do like it. I had a friend as a kid named Laney.

It’s cute but I think she might want an alternative for when she’s older.

@nearlymarriedlass: I like it. A girl I went to high school with had a younger sister named Laney, and I always thought it was a pretty name.

How about Lane with Laney as a nickname?

Cute – there’s an awesome singer in Australia called Lanie Lane and it suits her to a T

I prefer Laney to Lainey. I think people would misspell Lainey.

I recommend Elaine or Layne to give her the most amount of flexibility when she gets older. Lainey is a very *cute* name, especially for a little girl, but she may outgrow its diminutive nature.

I agree it is pretty cutesy for aadult woman. I actually have always loved the name Alaina/Elaina with Lainey as a nickname.

@nearlymarriedlass: It’s cute….for a little girl. Not for a young woman or middle age woman in my opinion. And all little girls grow up…

It’s a pretty trendy name. I personally prefer Delaney to just Lainey/Laney.
