This is what it says in a book I’m currently reading

“after the 20th week of pregnancy, generally more than 90% accurate at being able to tell a baby’s sex.”

I think it depends on how early you get the ultrasound. I have heard COUNTLESS times when they tell you the sex around 15- 16 weeks and it’s been wrong. In these cases, my friends (3 different friends!!!) were told BOY at the early ultrasound, and then GIRL a few weeks later!

I’ve never been pregnant, but have a lot of friends/family who have had babies recently and I think as long as you’re 20 weeks along or more, it should be accurate.

I was nervous too, but thank goodness they were right! We had a girl so of course everything people gave us was pink.

Well, I’m not sure yet, I’m 17 weeks, I found out when I’m 20wks though.

My sister was told she was having a boy, and had a boy.

My mom was told sher was having a girl, and had a girl.

The ONLY person I know who was inaccurate was my sister’s friend. She was born in South America 17 years ago, and was told she’d be a boy and they were wrong. But it was South America – not a rich country- and awhile ago, so that story probably isn’t as valid anymore lol.

Everyone else I know has been accurate 🙂

and yes, they do suggest waiting until 20 weeks, I’m jealous of the bees on here who aren’t as far along as I am and finding out soon, but the U/S technician said 20wks is recommended so I’m waiting 🙂

I am 38 Weeks pregnant and we went in for an ultrasound at about 16 weeks, at first the tech said its a girl, then about 3 minutes later she said wait …oh my, its a boy! We didnt place a whole lot of faith either way until we went to the OB a few weeks later and she confirmed its a boy!

(the first time we used an elective place that you can go to get cute pics of your baby in the womb)

ETA:We are set to have a c-section October 4th, i guess we will find out for sure then!
