One of the prettiest cake tables I have seen was where the bride made an organza overlay for the cake table in her color- in this case it was navy. The overlay was large enough to gather it into a couple of sags on either side at the front of the cake table about 8-10″ down.

Like this only the swags were to either side of the cake:

She had sent the overlay out to be machine embroidered with their names and the wedding date. The embroidery was placed so that it was centered  in line with the cake but was on the side of the cloth not the top so it showed up in photos.

She created an heirloom for her family.

If I have room, I’m going to put a little rustic frame on each table proped up on a mini easle. Then beside it there will be an old milk vase with sunflowers and a small mason jar with a tealight. I’m going to have this on the cake table, gift table, guestbook table, and any others I can think of 🙂

i think we are just doing a round table, with white table cloth and black runner… and then i will have candles scattered about, and cylinder vases to hold the bm’s bouquets for some color…. very simple 🙂

Our cake table will be a turquoise table cloth with white rose petals, turquoise votive candles and pale apple green votive candles. Our guest book table will be a few scattered seashells and a floral arrangment.

I forgot to mention the best part. The embroidery was done in the same color as the organza- navy- so it was very elagant and subtle.

i havent got any extra decorations just for this purpose, but i do have some extra tea lights that wont be used in my centerpieces, so i was thinking of putting them on the cake table, and maybe some silk flower petals too.
