Getting addresses from guests?

Most people I sent either an email or FB message.  We did ask our parents to collect addresses of certain people, but if they couldn’t do that we could have. It does take a long time so start asap.

LOTS of texts, emails, FB msgs, phone calls….and even a little bit of googling!  Neither of our parents helped with getting them and it did take a while.

oh, yes, I forgot that I did use ‘Canada 411’ to just look up the addresses.

I was lucky that both side parents were able to help with some family.  But, yeah I did a massive facebook message, then using those people to help find other people (if I was “friends” with one person, but not their sibling for example).

But, yeah I’d say don’t underestimate the power of social networking.  🙂  And if you’re not friends with family on facebook, it may be worth trying to search for them.  Awhile ago, I discovered a lot of my cousins (who I hadn’t seenin a long time) were on facebook.

And it’s good to start early.  🙂  Which it seems like you’re doing a good job with.

I sent and email or even fb message that was helpful because then you have everyones in one thread. And I called some people that I couldnt access from things like that. There were a few that I had to get from parents. But no matter how busy your parents are they can at least give you phone numbers for the people so you can get the addresses yourself.

I sent a facebook message to all my friends to get their addresses. My mom had all my family’s addresses, so she gave them to me. My Future Mother-In-Law is the same.. uninterested in the wedding… always busy. But I e-mailed her and told her to come up with her guest list. About a month later she gave it to me, with no addresses. I told her that I would need the addresses so they can all get invitations. About 2 months later I got those (it’s been so annoying thus far). There are still some addresses that she is “waiting” on. I just told her that I would need them by a certain date or that they wouldn’t be invited to the wedding. Basically, if you don’t have addresses, they can’t be invited… and left it up to her. If she really wants them there, she’ll get them 🙂

I either got them from family or straight up asked people. I mean, there is no way I can invite them without their address and it isn’t like inviting them is supposed to be a surprise.

I just sent an email. Trust me, peope like to response quickly especially if they know you’re engaged. If you don’t have an email address, drop them a message on facebook or give them a call.

So besides facebook, email and text messaging I did something a lil unorthodox to get some of my last few missing addresses… my county has an assessors website so looked up physical/mailing addresses as known to the county. Not always correct esp if a po box is listed as mailing but did work for those guests you don’t see all the time or have immediate contact info (parent’s friends, etc)
