I started taking longer walks with my dog each night and not eating so much junk food!  I also cut down on all the soda and juice I was drinking.

Sorry that it’s not an awe-inspiring miracle cure but it worked for me 🙂

Weight Watchers (online only) – it is the first time in my life that I have been able to control my weight loss and it’s been revolutionary for me!

South Beach Diet! It’s been life changing. I’ve never felt this good. Lost 16 lbs so far and I’m on week 4 and rarely working out but when I do, I like to do Zumba.

I just started Weight Watchers today so I’m hoping for some really good results.  I also exercise.  I walk, work out with weight balls, and Zumba on Wii.

Counting calories.  I’ve lost 15 pounds since Thanksgiving just by limiting myself to 1000 calories a day.  Here’s what my food intake normally looks like:

Breakfast – 1 egg and 2 more egg whites scrambled.  One piece of toast with a little butter.

Lunch – Some form of broth based soup (chicken tortilla is my fav).

Afternoon snack – 12 oz of v8 juice, low sodium

Dinner – blackened salmon or baked chicken, veggies.

Now don’t get me wrong, every now and then I splurge! I usually allow myself one bad meal on the weekends.  But if I’m super strict during the week it’s not too bad. 

Also, I just got a shake weight! I’ve only had it for 4 days, but my arms are super sore!!! Good luck!!

@hermitcrab: WW was the only thing that has ever consistently worked for me, and you aren’t restricted from all foods unless you choose to be. I love it!

@tinarenee77: Hey date twin!!!

 I started my “plan” last month and I started this early (from my wedding date) because I would like to loose it the healthy way as oppose to trying to cram it all lin a month before my wedding, lol… So far, I have lost 10 pounds and I have done that by:

-cutting out sodas and candy (I was getting caffeine headaches so I drink a small amount of green tea – which is good for you)

-I still eat the same but portion size only…. This way I am not depriving myself of the things I like, I am just eating smaller portions….and it helps me stick to my “diet”.

-Increased the amount of vegetables I eat

-I snack wheneve I feel hungry (yogart, almonds, fruit, etc…)

-I also walk the stairs at work (no elevators)…

All of this has worked for me and I see a huge difference… I have purchased my dress already (posted on another one of my threads if you want to see) and it fits my body nicely so I really just want to lose about 15 pounds and tone up a bit…

swimming and walking!!! i do go to the gym quite a bit lately but ihave tosay swimming is my favourite, its like a time out for me,my time to switch off!! i went swimming on january 3rd and struggled to swim a length of the pool without gasping for air, now im up to 20lengths, mind you it is only a 20metre pool but it all helps right?:)

at tinarenee77: I’ll be honest, it was tough at first.  The first week was pretty awful, I just felt so hungry. But then my stomach shrank a little and I’ve gotten to where now I can’t eat too much.  But I think the thing that really helped me through it was snacking on vegetables and V8 juice.  But I have always loved v8 juice…it’s so filling and yummy!  And if I need a little more substance, I’ll snack on a few saltine crackers.  But never too many!

I lost 12 lbs doing weight watchers & running regularly. Starting the running was really hard, but I love the way it has sculpted my body. I started not being able to run half a mile, but I’m up to 2 and a half now, I have a goal for 3.5 by the end of the month! I reached my goal weight and am now trying to go for muscle to fat ratio and maybe get around 5 lbs under my original goal.


Though the biggest thing I’ve done is this:

NO soda, TONS of water.

I started with P90X during the holidays to keep that holiday weight at bay (I did gain some, but not nearly as much had I not been working out).  Well, I just got into a rut at my weight (as I always do at this weight) so I’m now trying a new workout – Brazil Butt Lift.  P90X didn’t do much for my lower half and my Fiance being Brazilian suggested I do this work (I guess it helps that the main testimonial for this workout is his favorite VS Angel, lol).  So I’m doing that in the mornings and taking long walks with my dog in the afternoon, we have lots of hill in our neighborhood so it’s a great workout.

Eating-wise I’m eating between 1200-1500 calories a day depending on my workout.  I try to NEVER eat less that 1200 though.  I drink only water throughout the day and at night allow myself one soda.  I try to eat lots of veggies and protein with less carbs (although I cannot put myself through no carb…tried it once, I was miserable to be around, no energy).

Right now I’m at that “last 5 lbs” point and it’s a struggle!  But I have a little less than 5 months so I know I can do it!  Plus when I stress I lose weight!

@jenewitt: I also am doing P90X now and then am going to do Brazillian butt lift afterwards to tone the hip/love handle area!!  I’ve been doing it for three weeks and have lost 6 lbs.  I want to lose about 30 as well.

I think it is a great idea to lose the weight before you buy the dress.  I wonder if my dress choice would have been different.
