I haven’t gotten married yet, my big day is October 24th 2009, but right now I’m using Flickr. It’s so easy to use, you can assign folders, groups and sets, and also designate if you want them public, private or family and friends. Once you have them organized that way, you can invite all of your family and friends to see them.

Is that what you were looking for? That’s the online way to do it!!!!!!!!!!!

We received our pictures on a disc (the original is now in our safe deposit box).  I also posted most of them on Flickr.  I also made a Blurb album of my favorite images (nearly 200 pages of images).  I didn’t get a professional album because I was going to be so limited on the amount of pictures I could choose.  My Blurb one turned out AMAZING and no one can believe I did it myself.

we usually offer a client proofing gallery with a password, so you can just give password to friends and family and everyone can check them out!

We’re using iPhoto.  The new version has facial recognition and GPS locator software so you can organize by person or location.  Also, they have books so I’m thinking about using that instead of my beloved Blurb…  We’ll see.  🙂

As far as organization on the computer, I would probably do it in sections like:

Getting Ready

Then within those folders, have two subfolders:

Don’t Print

That way you know which ones you want in albums. Then for your album, my number one tip is to play with layout and coloring on each page. And I’d skip any cutesy themes the photo book site has. Stick with a solid color that you’ll never grow tired of, and won’t clash with your wedding’s colors.

Cheese, my photographer organized them for me into files:

  • Getting Ready
  • Bridal Portraits
  • Formals
  • Ceremony
  • Reception
  • Details
  • Photographer’s Picks

In my Blurb book I put them in chronological order.
