ct2015 :

“Kellyann Conway was the FIRST woman EVER to run a victorious Presidential campaign?!? THAT is pretty impressive…crickets from the left…”

So you think it’s impressive that Kellyann Conway was the first woman to ever run a victorious presidential campaign– but in the other thread when a poster asked if you thought possibly becoming the first woman president would be cause for celebration you said no and that gender is irrelevant to you.. 🤔

Dang, I couldn’t imagine being the lone Trump opposer in the office. That would suck. I felt the same as you this morning, woke up with a knot in my stomach, NOT wanting to go to work. Fortunately, an overwhelming majority of my coworkers as well as my lifelong friends, my entire immediate family, and my fiancé are all just as sick about the outcome as I am, so I had plenty of people to bask in my sorrows with. Even a few tears were shed. Now I’m at the point where I just want everything to calm down for once. I don’t want to be in denial because I know it’s something I’m going to have to accept. I think all of us who are heartbroken really need to take this time to take care of ourselves by whatever means necessary in order to heal. For me this will mean staying off major social media like Facebook and avoiding the TV coverage for at least a couple of weeks. We will get through this. Now we just need to hope for the best. 😕

Stayed up until 2:30am watching this.. thing… unfold. Slept 3 fitful hours, then had to go to work. My day was peppered with random jolts of “WTF JUST HAPPENED??!!!” in my head. And a few other thoughts I won’t share because I’m still sorting them out.

Finally figured out that this was what I needed:

Going to bed now 🙂

I spent the day at a government office. There were nervous titters when anything election related showed on the TV. I managed to control myself when the immigration inspector asked me “How are you?” and didn’t launch into a vitriolic rage.

The rest of the day I spent alternating between not caring and being deeply enraged.

I took a sick day…I’m hoping to take a sick 4 years off or until Trump and his Vp are impeached.

Trying to keep my head up and model strength and determination. I’m as heartbroken as anyone.

ct2015 : Instead of choosing to help heal the divide, your choice is to delight in the tears of others? I hope that was just an awful impulse, but if it’s what guided your political decision making, it’s time for some deep soul searching. I don’t know you, but I can’t imagine the legacy you want to leave is one of joy in the deep fear and pain of others.

twodancinft :

My point was simply – everyone is so focused on Hillary being a woman, that they aren’t acknowledging Kellyanne is a woman too… (I don’t care if either one is a woman, I was simply pointing out the hyposcrisy)

“Deep fear and pain of others” because of the election?? Seriously, anyone that feels that way needs to get a grip – you have been COMPLETELY influenced by the media…THIS is one of the reasons Trump won – MOST of America is tired of liberal bullshit (you didn’t see riots and protests when Obama won)

All you liberals praising people like Colin Kaepernick for “kneeling for what is right”…that asshole didn’t even VOTE!! (VOTING is how you make change…not “protesting”, being disrespectful to the flag, etc)  It has been confirmed he did not vote!

ct2015 : Unfortunately your replies mean that you are coming across as what many people fear Trump supporters to be – aggressive and intolerant, prone to stereotypes, and filled with dislike for others who do not share the same views, whether ‘liberals’ or illegal immigrants or Hillary supporters or simply those who are different from themselves.

You are referring to us as “all you liberals“. That sounds like you are putting us together in your mind in a stereotypical way. I also think that you are using the word ‘liberal’ in a way that many of us would not recognise.  I, for instance, would prefer to talk about justice, equality, inclusivity, openmindedness, compassion and respect – concepts that your post-election messages have singularly failed to convey.

Be assured that we are all different and such stereotypes are figments of your imagination.  They simply don’t exist in reality.

I hope that the same can be said of stereotypes about Trump supporters.
