Only the most exciting things!  1) car insurance, 2) paying off the table we bought a couple months ago, and 3) saving the rest to put towards a new electrical system in our house.

These things are so boring, and yet I’m kind of thrilled about it…

We owe.  I’m looking at it like the government gaves us an interest free loan for the year! We’re about to close on our house so hopefully that will help us out next year and we’ll come in even.

@MrsWBS:  I wish mine was like yours.  It just does not make since why we owe or get paid, I know we can adjust things so you don’t pay or you pay, but I feel like that just should not be done, just make it even each year.

I am just doing my taxes during my lunch now, looks like I’ll owe again, but half as much as last year so I’m happy about that.

We’re buying some furniture and putting the rest into savings. Yay adulthood! Lol.

IF we get anything, I will ask DH if I can use half to pay down a private student loan. I want to make a dent in it. The other half I want to save for moving expenses/house down payment.

It’s going directly into my savings account.

We got our tax refund yesterday and it’s a pretty big one, we decided to put the whole thing in our savings (transferred it over yesterday). Love seeing our savings bulk up more! 🙂

Unsure!  I did mine, but Fiance is still working on his, so unsure of what our final total will be.  It’ll go towards savings for now, since we just moved, we are building that back up now.  I want to have all the wedding money ready to be spent when it starts coming due!

@MrsUPS:  I was thinking the same thing! I e-filed January 24th, and my return hasn’t even been accepted yet! Last year, it was direct deposited on February 5th. Come on tax return!!!

@FutureMrsHarris2014:  I always file earlier in Jan too because I am self employeed so I have everything ready at the end of the year.

Anyway, I read (before I filed this year) that thanks to the wonderful shutdown earlier this year the IRS would not begin accepting returns until the 31st. I went ahead and submitted it on about the 28th and was told by HR Block I would get notification when it was accepted. I got notification on the 2nd but nothing else since. After seeing this post I just checked and was told it was approved and my deposit should be there on the 10th, depends on the bank of course.

Hope you get yours soon!
