Mine won’t be back for another six months, but I’ll probably save mine for a rainy day. Last year I used it for my wedding dress and other wedding things.

SAVINGS! I got the highest refund I’ve ever gotten this year (both a good and bad thing) and I pretty much broke even with the wedding for which I paid 100% out-of-pocket last year (and for which I paid almost exclusively with my 2011 and 2012 tax refunds). I don’t have anything major I want to spend it on, but I like to take about 10% of it and buy myself something frivolous. This year, I’ll share the 10% with my husband…since he doesn’t file in the US and doesn’t even know what a tax refund is, lol.

Savings, savings, savings. Building a house and closing in July {fingers crossed} and would like to still have a good amount in our savings after our down payment and closing costs.

@MammaPants: I filed federal on the 26th, it was accepted on the 30th, approved on the 3rd and showed up in my bank account on the 6th.

First I paid monthly bills. Then I bought a couple wedding related items. After that I took the kids to Chuck E. Cheese. And yesterday afternoon I bought Fiance a car (slow down…old, used car (2002), I didn’t get that much money back) so he can finally stop walking a mile in the freezing cold to and from the bus stop, riding the bus and being late for work when the bus doesn’t show up on time. It’s been a hard winter for him, he deserved it. And now I’m trying to decide what I’m going to do with the rest of it. I really need a new mattress, but it pains me to spend so much money! And I don’t want to run out of money cause I hate counting pennies. So I’m debating, trying to be sensible, but mattresses are freaking expensive. Blah.

I haven’t filed state yet.

All of it will go towards savings!! Specifically Tax Free Savings Account (TFSA, which is a Canadian savings/investment vehicle that’s tax sheltered).

@MammaPants:  He is. I surprised the shit out of him though. Ha! I picked him up from work yesterday driving this car that he never even knew I was looking for. It was kind of awesome. First thing this morning he took his car and bought my flowers before he went to work. I mean, that’s an even trade, right? lol. They are exceptionally beautiful flowers. 🙂

We’re buying a new couch and putting the rest into savings.
