So I have like a bazillion papers. Two seperate folders (one for our wedding in Georgia, one for our reception in Pennsylvania). Then loose papers about everywhere. I am struggling with organization. BIG TIME! I also occasionally print ideas out for the photographer or for various other reasons. I was looking at binders but the loose leaf paper seems to fall out, the folders I’ve found really dont have places to write. Anyone have any ideas?

i keep everything on google drive documents/spreadsheets; all our files are accessible and editable by both me and Fiance. It helps keep everything centralized, nothing gets lost, and i can edit/color-coordinate/organize to my little type-A heart’s content. maybe try going electronic?

Meh, I’m not. Not just about wedding stuff either. I love organization but somehow it often eludes me. It is my holy grail 🙂

@blueprint: Lol see I have an accountant for a fiancee so he did a spreadsheet. Me on the other hand I have about ten thousand written pieces of paper EVERYWHERE! lol

@nicoletim1434: Ive made an excel work book that has all the info I need (it’s backed up like 6 times haha) I’ve deffinately had a problem with my to do lists though. There seems to be so many things I want to do now but I have to wait until closer to the date. At this point I feel behind, but there’s not much to do about it. Reciepts are everywhere, as long as I log them in my work book, I dont really care what happens to them (of course those are recipts for things I will not be returning) as for wedding stuff I have accumulated, we have a spare room which has now become the wedding storage room, its not a big room but it’s half full…. I’d wager it will spill into the hall once everything is done!

When I got engaged, my sister made me a 3-ring binder with tabs (and dry erase markers in case I need to change any of the titles). I have tabs for budget, thank you’s, honeymoon, ceremony, reception, attire, food/beverages, etc. I have a few items printed out for budget, timeline, etc. and the rest is notebook paper with my handwritten notes filed under the various tabs. Also, the binder has pockets for papers and a clear zipper case for any receipts, pens, pencils, sticky notes, etc. But, I now have folders from vendors and 2 spiral notebooks shoved in it, as it keeps growing!

I also have a private wedding pintrest board and a private wedding hair and makeup pintrest board with my sister and mother where we post any inspiration photos and ideas and make comments.

I keep everything in my portable hard drive or my iPad. I’m a very techy person so I don’t like having paper copies. I scan anything I get in paper form and save it on the computer!

I made my Wedding Binder just the other day! I bought a nice binder and lots of page separaters! I have about 20 different tabs to keep everything organized. “Cater” “Ceremony” “Bridal Party” “Music” “Guest Information” “Paper Goods” etc etc. I bought clear sleeves as well to put magazine clippings and things in. I love it!!

Everything I saved was really digital, all except for actual vendor contracts. Ideas were on Pinterest or saved in a folder online. I used Excel for budgeting. I made a very detailed tracking spreadsheet.

Dropbox and Google Docs! Got the Dropbox app for my phone and it’s so helpful. 🙂

Right now I just have a bunch of thse accordian folder things with tabs. I keep a note pad and pen in that folder in case I need to jot something down and I also have folders on my laptop and on a hard drive.

@nicoletim1434: I use a wedding binder (I can message you my link on how I made mine) with the clear sheet protector for sticking loose pages in. I also keep digital copies of things in Dropbox. I LOVE that I can access all of the documents from anywhere. That has definitely come in handy. I can pull any wedding document up right on my phone using the app.

I’m doing mostly digital organization:
– A bunch of wedding pinterest boards separated by subject (flowers, decor, ceremony, etc) – no hard copies of any inspiration pix. Here’s my alter-ego profile with all the boards so my friends can’t see, if anyone’s interested:
– A weddingwire.com budget where we keep track of our projected budget and what’s been spent
– A label called “wedding” in my gmail account where I can easily find all the wedding-related emails
That’s it, plus a corner of our den with a few boxes of wedding-related stuff… I suspect the pile will grow!

I used a huge accordian file with single files. I had a file for each “aspect” of the wedding.. “dress”, “budget”, “cake”, “dj”, “photog”, “decor”, “hotel”.. everything had a file and then I kept them all together in the large accordian file. I use these supplies at work daily so it just fit for me. It worked out great, I knew where everything was and never lost anything.
