I really like wrapping presents. I love getting creative with it and coming up with something fun and unique.
This year, I decided to buy a roll of kraft paper (I got 3M postal paper for like $2 a roll… way cheaper than gift wrap and you get more of it) and I’m going to either use white or gold paint pens to decorate the paper myself. Basically simple doodles and sketches.
I still haven’t decided between white or gold, but I’m really excited about it.
How are you wrapping gifts this year?

Some gifts I had to actually wrap like candy. I used little red velvet Christmas bows to tie them up with! 🙂
Like the middle gift is wrapped in this picture:

@tinylittlebird: I did that one year. I stamped one stamp in the corner and used raffia as ribbon. Super pretty.
I usually go buy 3 coordinating papers and 3 or 4 rolls of each. My tree has to cordinate or it drives me batty.

I do a different color scheme every year.
This year I am using Brian Gluckstein papers in bronze and silver. I can’t find a pic online.

Wow, you guys are fancy, I’m impressed! For us it will be a big enough accomplishment just to get the house looking decent enough to have anyone over around the holidays, haha. I work at a store that gets crazy busy around the holidays, so our house is not looking as clean or festive as I would like. And I’ve bought a total of one present!

@Wonderstruck: Oh, don’t get me wrong… our house is a wreck. Our tree isn’t even put up all the way yet b/c I work retail and I haven’t been home much.
But lucky for us, we go to our families for Christmas, so everyone else just sees the pretty gifts… not our crazy messy house 😀

I’m not a very good wrapper. I actually prefer odd shaped gifts because at least there is an excuse! When it’s a box that’s wrapped poorly I feel bad. DH is worse than I am, so I don’t get any help from him (other than to hand me a piece of tape), but at least his don’t need to look great. I have ‘candy-wrapped’ a few gifts in the past, I don’t think there will be any this year.
I love gift bags, they make things so much easier and wear better for reuse better than paper. I do pretty them up with tissue paper and if it’s someone who judges the wrapping job, ribbon and sometimes bows. I also buy pretty tags if the one on the bag has already been used. This year I also bought a few tins and pretty boxes. I’ll probably throw some ribbon around those, but they are fairly small so won’t work for most gifts, but there’s one I’m really excited about.

I’m just using regular wrapping paper but I am very, very neat about the folds and tape. I also have a few different papers but I make my own curling ribbon bow decorations and I have to use at least two different colours of curling ribbon and I add a typical stick-on bow. I’m usually asked if I got it professionally wrapped because I’m such a nutcase. I love wrapping though!

I wrap Christmas gifts with Christmas paper BUT I wrap birthday gifts with brown craft paper and paint or draw my own pictures on them… everyone whose gotten a hand colored gift from me has loved them!
Heres 2 I made for a friends birthday.

I just use regular Christmas wrapping paper. I’m very meticulous about my wrapping though (I learned that from my mom).

I am not good at wrapping presents so I don’t get creative with it. I just buy the cheapest paper I can find (usually at the dollar tree). My husband is much better at wrapping gifts so I actually let him do most of the wrapping.

My mom and I wrap together b/c she’s awesome at it! We take a day off work (next Fri) and buy lots of snacks and wine and wrap gifts.
She usually gets a plain colored paper and then a coordinating patterned one, and wraps 1/3 of the gift in one and 2/3 in the other paper, and covers the seam with that huge sparkly wire ribbon…adn then does things like stick glittery leaves or whatever in it too. They come out so professionally!
I use bags lol- I suck at it
