daniellemc :  ovidrel is no biggie! The needle is tiny and it really doesn’t hurt. You can ice beforehand to numb the area but there’s no need to, I never did. It is over in a flash! Don’t worry about injecting fast or slow just do it normally, as long as it gets in there. Good luck! Is your husband going to do it for you? I did some of my own shots but it was easier when he did them for me!

It didn’t hurt me at all! I did it myself, but if you have a fear of needles, I would have your SO do it for you. Like PP said, it’s over in a second!! The anxiety leading up to it was the worst part, not the injection itself.

Girl you’ve totally got this!!!  I was sweating up a storm the minutes leading up to when I did my trigger shot myself and it was no big deal.  The needle is so tiny I could barely even feel it.  I also think it contributed big time to the perfect timing of our IUI which now has me 38 weeks pregnant!

It doesn’t hurt and it’s over so quick. I did multiple IUIs + IVF so was giving myself at least 3 shots daily for 10+ days plus blood work, felt like a pincushion! I preferred doing all my shots myself because I could control the pressure of the needle going in and then injecting. DH prepped shots, had the alcohol wipes ready, disposed of needles and gave moral support🙂

if i recall the ovidrel is a subq shot.  a piece of cake.  it felt like a little tiny pinch for one second.

i did all my shots for my IUI and IVF rounds to get DS.  when we did an FET for my current pregnancy, it was 10 weeks of IM shots in the butt.  PIO was not fun.  after a few weeks of self injection in my butt, i told my husband he had to suck it up and do them.

I almost hyperventilated before my first Ovidrel injection and after it was over, I was like, “that’s it?!” Barely felt it.

You can do this!! The anticipation is SO much worse than the actual event.

It doesn’t hurt at all. I have had to use the trigger shot several times. I usallg gave it to myself. Most of the times I never even felt it! Sometimes a very small pinch. The first time I took it out and let it get to room temperature in case there was burning. No burning and the other times I took it right out of the fridge and no burning. The first time doing injections can be scary so I think it’s nice you have DH with you for support. You got this!!

daniellemc :  it doesnt hurt but I would have hubby do it. I cried and shook and it took me 20 minutes to work up the nerve to stab myself even though I knew it wouldn’t hurt (and it didn’t). I did it but when we moved on to IVF he did all,of them,to avoid the drama lol.
