weddingmaven: To clarify, living room in the US usually refers to a formal space, separate from a game room, den, family room etc. Many people do use them as family rooms, but the connotation is different.

SithLady:  We had the exact same reaction when we went to look at tvs in Best Buy!!  Those curved High Def 4K tvs are ridiculous so we went ahead and got one 🙂  Even though most shows are not yet streamed via 4K, it still improves the quality of the picture and watching tv/movies etc has become a whole new experience for us.  We will never go to the movies or the IMAX theater now!  My Darling Husband was worried the curve screen was just an expensive gimmick, but let me tell you that curve makes a huge difference.  It doesn’t matter where you sit in the room, it feels like the tv screen centers itself so that you still get the full view regardless of where you are.

Now don’t get me started on what it’s like to play PS4 games on that thing!  (esp Call of Duty — yes I’m a chick and love playing shooter games!)

    Shina:  So did we!

We had a 42″ for a long time. We had been eyeballing the 4ks for awhile and came across a Samsung 65″ 4k curved TV this past week that we couldn’t pass up. Plus I got my parents entertainment center when they moved and it dwarfed our 42″. It was made to fit at 70″ tv. The 65″ is AWESOME!

Shina:  That’s awesome. I fully expect that Fiance is going to be wanting to get one of those, they’re so cool.

I love games too, though I’m a melee girl myself. Anxiously awaiting the next Elder Scrolls.

Our family room TV is 50″.

Last year, we won a 62″ LED at DH’s company holiday party, which is currently in our bedroom. It’s way too big for our bedroom, but we like our 50″ so much more. So it basically serves as wall decor that we occasionally play a movie on to fall asleep to. We will likely move the 62″ to the living room at some point (we have zero furniture in our living room at the moment…zero).

CocoLoco523:  OMG you guys got one too?!!  Isn’t that curved TV amazing!!  Our tv watching experience has been forever changed since we got it.  We heard that Netflix will start streaming 4K shows/movies for an extra $3 or so for its members.  There are a few shows on there right now that you can try the 4K streaming (it’s amazing!)

SithLady:  Hahahha  let me tell you once you guys get that tv you can’t go back to regular tv watching.  I used to LOVE playing Elder Scrolls (I’m also a huge Final Fantasy/RPG game fan) but one time I played it for like 5 hours straight and got terrible motion sickness for a few days from it and it forever ruined the game play for me. 🙁   It sounds super corny but I am totally hooked on the LEGO PS4 games these days (LEGO The Hobbit is so good!)  and with this new TV all the little details etc. in those games make it sssooo worth it!

We’re also in an apartment. It was a 32 in but we have a 50 something inch now. Can’t remember the exact size but I know it’s over 50.

60″ with a 14 foot viewing distance.  I’d happily go up to 80″ when the prices drop more.

We’ve got a 60″ in the living room and a 46″ in the bedroom. We are gamers though, so having large HD TVs is important to us.

We are most likely going to be moving out of state in the next year, so we are holding off on getting a larger 4k tv for now. It would also not fit so well in our apartment haha.

Ours is 32″ in the living room. Only one TV in the house, which I know is pretty much unheard of.

    I think it’s 62? It’s fiances baby.

If we had a fire, his order of importance would be: me, cat/dog, tv.

We have two! I had, like, a 25 inch tv, but Fiance had a 40something inch tv. When he moved in, we put his tv right next to mine; it’s hilarious! My tv gets antenna channels, but his has netflix and a chromebox.

65″ but our living room is large with high ceilings. Anything smaller would look lost. Our bedroom TV is 46″ but we have a large bedroom with high ceilings….

I don’t personally know anyone with a living room TV smaller than 42″ but you get what you want and like not what anyone else has or says is “normal.”
