pinkshoes:  my husband and I were discussing one of the very large (4K) TVs. We are also waiting for prices to drop.

We have a 40″ right now so that’s what I voted for in the poll, but we are moving soon and the living room is huge compared to what we have been living in. Darling Husband thinks the TV is going to look tiny in that room so we might upgrade to something larger. I’m thinking it will be a 50″.

The one in our great room (closest room to a living room) isn’t very big, I forget the size high 20s or low 30s.  It’s big enough so we can watch something from the kitchen while cooking, and we can throw on a music channel.  The ILs have their main tv in the living room and it’s constantly on, loudly.  Drives me nuts as it makes it difficult to visit with people, although Mother-In-Law often asks Father-In-Law to turn it off when people are over.  It just seems like 30 min later it’s back on again.  My parents would never put on in their living room, but their house isn’t open concept, so it can’t be viewed from the kitchen.

Our TV is either 48 inches or 52 inches (I can’t remember exactly) but I voted for 40-49 in the poll.

I like the size now, though when my SO bought it we were living in a small apartment and it took up half the living room wall! It was way too big and we had to have the couch almost in the kitchen otherwise you were sitting too close. It was ridiculous.

55″. Our living room is pretty good sized now and it seems small to me. Although, my cousin has a 70″ tv, and I know several others who have 65″ tv’s.

Ours is only 19″  It carried over from our college dorm room that we shared. Even though our apartment is small, it still looks downright silly in our high-ceiling living room. We just haven’t been able to justify spending the money on a bigger TV when this one works just fine.

65 in the family room.  50 in the living room. I didn’t pick either of them.

We don’t have a tv in the living room, although my mother really wants to get one. She loves Tvs. We have a tv in every bedroom though so I’m really trying to talk her out of it. It’s just such a waste, IMO, given that all we watch is reality TV and I usually watch my scripted stuff online. We’re always complaining that there’s nothing on tv. The one my mother wants is a 50″ though. The ones we have are smaller but I generally dislike how big TVs are getting. I think enough is enough.
