We’ve got a 55, 40 and 32″. They’re all flat screens in the last few years. The 55″ could be a little bigger for the room it’s in, but it’s pretty good. The 40″ just fits in a built-in shelving unit so we can’t go bigger, and we rarely use the 32″ in the bedroom so it’s fine. We will probably eventually get a 60-70″ but there’s no rush, because we don’t have anywhere to put the old 55″!

I think our current TV is 42″, but it looks so dinky on our TV stand and against the wall that it’s sitting on. We definitely want to upgrade to a bigger one to mount on the wall.

We had literally never owned a tv in our life (we’re in our early 30s) and usually just watched Hulu and Netflix on my laptop.

UNTIL…. a few months ago, somebody in town was moving and had to sell their 65″ flatscreen tv that day for crazy cheap.  $350!  So now we have the most giant, atrocious, monstrosity of a tv imgainable, haha.  It’s in our spare bedroom (den) so that it doesn’t take over the living room.  And I LOVE IT!  We still don’t have cable, but it’s amazing for Roku and Netflix.

I have 2 that are around 40″ and they’ve worked out pretty well for us.  Maybe when I have to replace them I’ll get something bigger but have no desire to right now.  One is a flatscreen from 2008 and it’s still going strong!

I don’t have cable, but do watch sports, Netflix, HBO, and DVDs.

Darling Husband used to have a really old enormous TV (70″ or more? no clue) but I made him get rid of it.  It was pretty old though!

@AB Bride:  Our’s is an 8 year old 42″ plasma. It seems to be kind of dying and since we’re expecting, we’re really tempted to buy a new one while we have disposable income. We’re looking at a 51 inch. I think he’d go larger if he could, but the current one is a good size up on the wall if you take into account the full dimensions of the box. Since it’s so old though, it has huge speakers on each side of the actual screen, so once we put up a 51 inch, it will probably fit in the same space between the surround sound speakers as the 42 inch does!

@AB Bride:  we don’t have cable and but do sometimes watch TV (stream on appletv or netflix). We have a 42 inch. Fiance wanted bigger, I considered anything bigger that 36 inch an interior design catastrophe, and yet we somehow ended up with our 42.

I think it’s 32″?  FI had gotten a 60″ flatscreen a few years ago that was absolutely ridiculous in our apartment.  He insisted on getting it because it was super on sale on Amazon and cheaper than a smaller screen.  He gave it to his parents and took theirs (the 32″ we have now) when he moved across country and could only take what fit in his car.  The 60″ died about a week after the warranty was up, the little one is still going strong.  I still make fun of him for it.

We have a 100 inch screen and a projector in our media room. When we got it we werent sure if we would use it all the time, maybe it was too big. Nope we watch it every night.

We have a 52 inch in the other living room and a 46 inch in our bedroom. Those are used as well, mostly the bedroom. I think it is important to purchase a size tv based on your room size. Our master is 19×19 and we had my 26 inch tv in there for a while and it was much too small. You couldnt read the guide from the bed!

Our is a flatscreen somewhere between 50 and 55″ – not entirely sure. It was DH’s birthday gift from his parents a few years back. Before then (we lived apart at the time), we both had much smaller TVs…this took some getting used to for me.

@AB Bride:  My TV is like 19″. I want a new one sooo bad! I got it as a Christmas gift when I was in university and it was the right size for my bedroom but it’s not in my living room and it’s so tiny. Especially for using Netflix!

We have a 42″ and we use an Apple TV to stream Netflix/Hulu/HBO/Amazon prime. We also have an antenna to get local TV, which we mainly just watch when there is a storm or something going on because the local news hysteria is so entertaining.
