@greenidlady:  I’m assuming you’re getting help for your health issues, right? That’s the first thing.

Second, I think it would be nice to pick 1-3 days a week where you go out and do stuff with him. That way he can see the world and do stuff with you, you’e still getting your “at home” time, and everyone wins!

@greenidlady:  There’s nothing you can do about not feeling well. Your health is important and your guy seems to get that. I think if you’re comfortable with him hanging out with friends and doing stuff without you, you guys will be fine.

Off the top of my head, there are some things you COULD do together…

  • Go to the park. He can run, maybe play a game of pick-up hoops with guys there, while you relax and read. You could have a picnic together.
  • Do lower energy dates when you can get out of the house but can’t do something crazy. Movies, dinner, a drive… these are all romantic things that take little energy but will keep him from feeling like he’s stuck in the house.
  • Game nights. He gets to invite friends and have a little party. You don’t have to plan much (throw some chips & dip on the table, open a bottle of wine & you’re good to go) plus you’re ten feet from your bed if you have to duck out and get some rest.

@greenidlady:  No problem. We’re both sort of low-energy, so I’m just thinking of our favorite sorts of dates. 😛 Christmas lights is a favorite of ours. We went to three different mega-decorated neighborhoods this year!

Another one is going to a coffee shop with live music. It feels a lot more like “Doing Something” than just sitting in a random Starbucks, but doesn’t require any additional energy/money/time.
