You definitely didn’t make the wrong decision. I remember seeing the other pics your posted, and the poll. 🙂

This venue is gorgeous — especially at night.  I would not try to “fight” the decor in the room.  It’s very elegant. Given your colors, I would do your tablecloths in white or even silver, and bring in the violet with your centerpieces and uplighting (and possibly with your napkins, if you really wanted to do that.)

I’m sure your reception will be quite beautiful!

By the way, just as an example of how to incorporate black and gold with other tones, check out this pic of QB Ben Roethlisberger’s and Ashley Harlan’s wedding.  They used the Steelers’ colors of black and gold, but they also were able to bring in beautiful pink/lilac tones with the flowers and lighting. http://celebritydaily.net/wp/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/Ben-Roethlisberger-Ashley-Harlan-wedding-pic.jpg (I’m hoping this link works.)

I saw that your other post didn’t get alot of responses.  If you don’t mind, would you in the future please “bump” your previous thread for more responses.  It would really help the mod team keep the boards from getting cluttered with duplicate posts.  Thanks.

@kn8973:  Sorry, it does not fit the deletion policy, it just for future reference.  You are sweet to ask though 🙂

@kn8973:  Yes, I think you probably could use plum tablecloths without the room feeling too dark.
