I am going to a cash and carry sale at a local wedding botique and they are selling discontinued Maggie Sottero dresses. If possible, I would like to have a general idea of what I’m interested in beforehand – I have done some google searches but have come up empty. Any suggestions on how to be prepared? Thanks!

I don’t think they provide a list, but if possible, I would just go in with an idea of what styles of dresses you like, A-line, ballgown, fit and flare, etc. That’ll make it at least a little easier to search for dresses. But even if you had a list, there’s not guarantee that the store would have what you ended up liking.

When I called one of my local salons to see when they get notification of discontinued dresses, they told me they never know. Sometimes they only find out a week before, sometimes more. They also said you never know what is going to be discontinued. It could be stuff from a few seasons ago, or it could be stuff as recently as last season.

I agreed with the suggestions so far – have a few silhouette and waistline in mind. Not sure when the event is (or if it has expired). I would select a few pictures from the current MG site – you never know if they a similar discontinued gown that is sightly similar to the newer lines.

Often the current season dresses are very similar to designs from previous seasons. I would suggest going and trying on a few styles in a bridal salon to get an idea of what you are after, and if you may find something very similar to your favourite at the sale! Good luck!
