We picked up our wedding rings at the weekend. I’m dying to share them, but can’t for the life of me get a decent pic! I’ve tried different lighting, different modes on the camera, on finger, in box, everything and they all come out blurry or you can’t see the detail. We’ve only got a little point and shoot camera like this. Anyone have any tips?!

My camera has a close-up option that works very well. Otherwise, with my old camera it helped if you held your hand away and zoomed in to get a close-up of my ring.

Set it to macro, dont use a flash, but make sure its in a nice bright place. Dont get too close to it or it cant focus, you probably need to be about 2.5-3 feet away. Use the highest megapixels you can, then just crop and resize the picture as needed.

Thank you everyone for your hints and tips. Hopefully I’ll be able to get a decent photo this weekend so I can share it with you all.

My first photos turned out horrible…
My best early photos happened because as the others said I took them outdoors in natural light. Then I used my photoshop program to zoom in and crop the picture.
It was only later, that I recalled that I had a Macro function on my camera… duh.
That would have made things easier right from the get go no doubt.
