Without specifics the only thing I can say is kill her with kindness. Never ever stoop to her level. If you ignore a child throwing a tantrum eventually they’ll shut up and calm down.

As someone who has been in a VERY similar situation, I really feel for you!  My Mother-In-Law full on said she doesn’t like me and other nasty untrue things about me in an e-mail to my husband.  Luckily, he is on my side, and that is the most important thing.  She’s not going away anytime soon, so just try to act as kind and civil with her as possible.  If things escalate, make sure Fiance is on your side and decide what to do at that point.

I hope things improve for you.  Some Mother-In-Law can’t let their “little boys” go, and act like crazy bitches.
