1. Dontate plasma, you can usually make at least 100-200 a month. You SO can go with you, it usually only takes an hour or two and if you both do it its twice the money.

2. Also, sign up on sites like care.com or sittercity.com for petcare jobs. I do this while im in college, I only have two clients (I also live in a suuuuper small town in the middle of the desert) but most months I manage to make at least $100 a month. You can choose places that are in easy walking distance or a quick ride on a bus.

Are you good at making anything? Baking? Cleaning? Quilting/sewing/crafting? If not…feel like learning? The internet + youtube helped me learn to sew, and now I do commissioned alterations every once in a while.

You could use one of your skills and advertise it. Like baking cupcakes/cakes for kids’ birthday parties, or cleaning a neighbor’s house once a week. Even learning to properly hem or mend a pair of pants could net you a few dollars here and there and isn’t difficult to learn.

There are actually quite a few legitimate work from home companies. There is a message board called workplacelikehome that lists many of them. Some that I know off the top of my head (either from personal experience or from friends who worked there) are West, LiveOps, Arise, Convergys, Cloud10, Alpine Access, These are call center type positions and they pay pretty decent, you never leave your house.  I hope it works out for you!

Do you like to write? There is a few companies that will pay per article. One is Demand Studios (I think that’s the name) and they write for eHow, if I’m not mistaken.

What is your degree in? You can tutor online or meet with students 1-on-1. Check out Wyzant. I’ve never used that site but I know the pay per hour is pretty good. In college, I’ve paid PhDs $80-125/hr and that was almost 10 years ago!!

Also, you can check out local and national places that offer ‘educational services.’ I did a short freelance stint for a local company. Basically, I wrote test prep questions at home for AP-level science HS kids to use for studying. I averaged about $50/hr. All they wanted was a resume, a phone interview and a writing sample.

ETA: The above are all legit. I have no financial interest to disclose. πŸ™‚

I do ebay. My SO and I usually take 2 days a month and head to the thrift stores. We take his Iphone and look up completed items as we go so I know whats selling/whats not. It takes some time to get used to how to take pictures/describe things/what to buy, but once you get the hang of it, its pretty easy.

After our thrifting excursions I take a few hours the next day to list everything. My best month ever was $350 profit normally i make about $100-200 extra a month. Lots of people do this everyday and make much much more, but for 4 days out of the month  I think what I make is decent.

Check out elance. It’s an online freelance website. Basically people post jobs they need done virtually of all kinds and you try to sell your job skills to them an they pick the candidate they like the best. Overall I think it’s legit, but you do have to be careful about what contracts you look for. Just like anything online, you have to be smart and make sure they aren’t asking for personal info. My SIL has used it before thought and there are many projects available.

@lioness_89:  You’re welcome! When my Mom passed away and Dad got sick 5 years ago, I had to move home, and there were NO jobs there. I worked for 3 of these and they are all definitely legit.
