(Closed) How can I make this frame?

Try chipboard (like the backings they give you on cheapo furniture; sturdy but light) and then glue down trim that you can buy from home depot to make the boxes.  That way, you can easily remove the trim to replace the fabric later.

home depot has large sheets of, im’ not sure what they are called, but it feels like clip board material, or peg board stuff, but with out the holes.  Its pretty light and cheap, maybe 4 or 7 bucks for a 4x6ft board if I remember correctly.

@heather5743: you could use dowel rods (you can get them at Michaels) to make the seperate boxes. It might not be as deep, but still a cool effect.

or what about foam board snugged inbetween the wooden frame pieces. if you use 1×2 to create the frame, you could snuggly place the 9 panels into them.

the material pinkshoes mentioned is more what I was thinking of; it’s called hardboard (thank you Google) and comes in 4×8 sheets.  1/8″ and 1/4″ thickness.  they can probably cut it down for your at the hardware store.
