My boss sent me this picture of this bouquet today and I love, love, LOVE it. Since I’m wearing off-white/ivory, I was never too concerned with the colour of flowers I’ll be carrying, but do you think I can make these work with my BM’s dresses, which will be garnet coloured (see bottom of post)? It seems like sometimes brides choose flowers that do not fall within their colour scheme anyway. My main colour will be red, and I’m trying hard to work golden yellow into it.
At first I considered red roses and stephanotis, but those are too common, and then brooch bouquets, which I am still considering but keeping my options, and I recently found a florist, who happens to be a personal friend of my boss, and he is able to give me amazing prices so I want to go with my dream flowers, which are orchids!
and my dress, if it helps at all:
and the Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses (for colour reference)

Ooo. I love Alfred Sung dresses. And I think the red will look beautiful with your dress. The style of that bouquet is so cool. Very unique. I’m so not into the typical round bouquet. Have you looked at other orchid colors. They have some beautiful reddish/yellow ones that may be what you’re looking for. Are those tiger lilies? Very cool…but a word to the wise. . . make sure the orange stamen things are taken off….they will stain any fabric they touch.

Calla lillies come in this really pretty yellow-rust colour.
Oncidium orchids come in nice reds and yellows.
Hummm, I’m scratching my head for spring reds. I’ll get back to ya!

You certainly could have that bouquet. It is beautiful!
You could use those exact colors for your bouquet and a bit darker shade for your maids.
Maybe a smaller version of this?
Or to bring in your yellow color for the maids

I was actually hoping to keep the same colours of the bouquet (for mine anyway)–the softness of the pink and green are actually what I love most, and the fact that they’re orchids seals the deal for me.
My mom was thinking adding a pale yellow to the bouquet, and for the BM’s taking out the pink so it doesn’t clash with the red. The BM’s will still have light green and light yellow flowers in their bouquet. I’m not sure about my BM’s holding red flowers against a red dress, but that’s just my weird colour matching preferences speaking. I think i have colour pairing issues, LOL

Why don’t you ask your florist for suggestions. If he/she created the bouquet you posted, then I bet he/she would have some fantastic ideas for colors to go with your Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses.

@Loribeth: Actually, it was just a random search my boss did. My boss closed his door for 20 minutes, then I received an email with 15 pictures of bouquets! LOL My florist didn’t do that particular bouquet, but I will definitely ask him. I just want to have some ideas to bring into our appointment so he has an idea of what I’m looking for.
