Ok, one of my bridesmaids happens to have 25 clear beta fish vases. That is a 10 1/4 size vase. In looking at floral wedding centerpiece pictures I have not seen any pictures with these particular vases. Is this vase appropriate for floral centerpieces? Is there another way I can make this vase look more appealing for a wedding. Ideally I would like vases that are more straight-lined…but these are FREE! I would like to try to use them. Any ideas or suggestions?

Can you post a picture of it so we know what you’re working with? I’m not sure I know the shape without it.

Is this the shape of your vase?
If so, you can certainly use them for floral arrangements. If you don’t like the look of the vase with just water, you can always add river rocks or other filler, or wrap large tropical leaves around the inside of the vase.
It’s hard to find pictures of floral arrangements in that shape vase, but this black and white drawing shows what a nice shape it could be- also a water color beside it.

If those are your vases I would say to wrap a nice ribbon bow around it and go with some fresh flowers. keep it simple !

What about submerging some flowers in the water or some kind of fruit or berries. If it’s the shape as above what about submerging a few flowers in the botton bulb and another larger flower at the top lip of the vase? Or fruit in the bottom and the flower at the top. Or a floating candle at the top.

Yes. The picture posted by Julies is the exact vase I am talking about.

My Sweetiepie sends me flowers in that vase all the time.
Here’s a picture of the most recent bouquet he gave me: (You can’t see the vase but its just like the vase your talking about).

I bought similar vases and didn’t end up using them because I switched to candles. My original plan was to fill them with colored gel beads (the ones that soak up water) and maybe a submersible LED light under those to make them glow. If you want to add a little drama to the floral arrangement, you can create height by adding some curly branches or tall greens (like bells of Ireland) in addition to the flowers.

Not sure what kind of style you are looking for but you can:
Put any fresh flowers that you love together in it!
Make them into lampshade centerpieces
Cover the vases with kraft paper or material, use a bow or string to secure and use some simple flowers.
Make a candle centerpiece, with some river rocks and a pillar candle and some ribbon around the neck…
