So my husband and I finally booked our honeymoon. We are going on a cruise in Asia on Royal Caribean starting in Singapore and stopping in Vietnam, Hong Kong, and China. I should be excited but I just keep thinking how is this honeymoon going to be romantic? Basically it is going around seeing different villeges and buddist temples, and buildings and places in history (sightseeing) I suppose on the ship we will do some activities together and have alone time but I just can’t see how this honeymoon will be a romantic fun time that newlyweds have. We got married in July and we had that great we just got married feeling on our wedding night and day after in the hotel we stayed in but then we had to go home and back to work and I feel we never got that nice feeling that married couples do when they go on their honeymoon right away and now that we had to wait almost a year I don’t know if we will be able to get that kind of feeling.

I bet you will!! What does “romantic” mean to you? You’re taking time off of work to travel the world and do something new and exciting!

I just spent 6 months backpacking through Asia (in the very same places you are going) with my husband on our honeymoon, and YES it was romantic! You’re taking on the world together! It’s such an adventure, it’ll be fabulous 🙂

Just….maybe try to block out all the Chinese people spitting. And letting their kids pee/poop in public places.
You get kind of immune to it after a while…(this doesn’t happen as much in Hong Kong, but in mainland CHina…oh boy!)

Two words—room service!!!
We always have the best….you know 😉 ….on cruises. We have tons of fun sightseeing, then we go to dinner, then at like midnight we order room service, hang out alone on the balcony….then…..YEAH!!!
What can I say? There’s nothing like a free room service steak to get your man in the mood. haha

I have been to Hong Kong and it is amazing! Exploring all of those awesome things and doing it together will be romantic in itself. It will be an unforgettable experience that you both will remember for the rest of your lives. You will love it and it will be an amazing honeymoon!

Were doing a cruise honeymoon… being lazy on the ship together… having alone time in our room and seeing new exotic places were making my romance meter go off the charts. Just think about how nice it’ll be to be together with no worries, no interuptions, just you two… so romantic.

Being with my new husband and exploring the world together is all the romance I need!

there are TONS of things to do on a cruise ship that make you forget where you are! you will definitely be able to have romantic days/nights.. even if the location you are in doesn’t feel so romantic. have an AMAZING time!!

It will be what you make of it. Don’t worry about making it romantic – worrying isn’t romantic!

I LOVE going sightseeing with my husband & it is VERY romantic, because its just you two exploring the world together, esp when you just stroll and hold hands 🙂

What, exactly, did you envision as romantic? If there’s some particular activity you need to make it meet romantic, then try to make it happen on the cruise. A private dinner? I’m sure you can arrange something with one of the many dining options available on most cruise ships. Just doing nothing while laying out in the sun? I have no doubt you can do that, and it will be very similar to a beach in that others will be around, but probably won’t disturb you.
If, on the other hand, there’s nothing about the trip that meets your vision, well, then just plan for something different for you next vacation.
Really, the trip is what you make of it. We want to go back to Hawaii to get married and honeymoon not because we have memories of what most people consider romantic, but because we had such a great time and really enjoyed one another as we discovered new things about the islands. In fact, we kind of rolled our eyes at all the couples on one of the few tour activities we booked who were being unbelievably cheesey about the fact that they were on their honeymoons. It wasn’t that we couldn’t be happy for them, but it just wasn’t “us.”
So really, it’s what you guys make of it. Enjoy it because of the company and try to make memories you’ll cherish forever. Whether it happens the day after your vows or 50 years later, it’s about the two of you doing something exciting together.

@MrsDulce: Ok that seriously CRACKED me up too funny!!!
So I think this trip will be SUPER romantic, Fiance and I love adventure and the outdorrs, and there is nothing more romantic than exploring new lands together, plus you can have romantic evenings in your room, and you can get dressed up for dinner, and I would just say you just got marreid so people will treat like a freshly married couple! And I am sure the cruise line will offer some really awesome and romantic activities, maybe you guys could get couples massages or something??
Fiance and I are also going on a cruise, we are going to alaska, we are not much of lounge on the beach with a cocktail kind of couple (ironically we live in Huntington Beach Southern Cali), so we chose to see the beauty of alaska and we want to go DOG SLEDDING!!! But we will be going on our Honeymoon about 8 months after our wedding, but we are just gonna tell people we JUST got married, I am even considering wearing a just married shirt on to the ship hahaha hoping this will bring back some of the excitement of JUST being married lol!
