After looking over this site, I seem to notice that a lot of the other Bees on here have a wide variety of stones in their engagement rings. Moissanite, gemstones, Asha…
How do you choose?
I’m personally against diamonds for ethical reasons, plus, the price tag on gemstones or simulated diamonds is a lot better. But I have heard that some stones don’t look as good in cuts other than round, and I like cushion and emerald.
What were your determining factors? Good/bad experiences with any of the above or ones I haven’t listed?
Also, if you ladies would like to, you could post some real like pictures for me to drool over
I’ll add that Fiance and I haven’t so much as looked at rings. It’s a scary idea to me, and seeing all the posts about different stones and options are overwhelming…
So, I would be very appreciative of any advice you all could give me.

Honestly, I don;t know how to choose. I’ve been pretty anti diamond for a while now, but have a feeling my bf will get me a daimond anyways! So I kind of give up, I still look occasionally, show him what I like, what I don;t like, and just hope and pray to gd he chooses something decent, ethical, and not pricey. I really don’t want an expensive ring. I do want gold however, I looove gold! Any color will do!

Do you want to pass your e-ring off as a diamond? If so, Asha is the most diamond like. With the amorphous coating it is alot harder and more durable than regular cz and it comes in colour grades which is a bonus. They look extremely realistic and are pretty much indistinguishable from diamond.
However if you have a problem wearing cz the moissy is also a good choice. It is a very hard gemstone so won’t scratch too easily either. It is man made, it can have a funny tinge to it in certain lighting and look best in round cut. You can pay an extra $100 per carat to enhance the colour and make it more white, but some people still don’t like the enhanced colour. The cuts that are available are limited a little bit as well, and princess cuts dont look too good in moissy. Moissy is very sparkly due to the double refraction, and is more sparkly than diamond which is only single refractive. This is what *can* make moissy stand out alot from diamond.
For cushion or emerald cut I would go with Asha. Asha is also alot cheaper than moissanite because it doesnt need to be enhanced. I have an asha on the way so I will post when SO give it to me but if you type in moissanite or asha into the forum search I’m sure a tonne of stuff will come up.
Also, with the companies that sell asha or moissy online you can create a wishlist and send it to SO 😉
