Great thread idea! It made me chuckle going back to my engagement ring section on Pinterest. This is one of the rings I pinned:

Pinterest didn’t exist when I got engaged. We didn’t have nearly as many options and the Internet wasn’t used for shopping, either. We just went to a few shops and tried some things on. I also lived in a teeny town in the middle of nowhere. As such, I didn’t have a dream ring. We just bought the best ring we could in our budget.

Identical! But the stone is not a morganite, its moissanite!

Love this! Below is a pin of a vintage Tiffany from my board and THE ring. I’ve got to hand it to him because honestly my board was all over the place. I always have a hard time deciding between classic and trendy.

I had a pinterest board that was mostly halos but Fiance wasn’t crazy about them so I assured him I wouldn’t be devestated if he found something else. I’m so glad I ended up with a ring that we both love, and that’s more unique than a halo (no offense to anybody who has one, I still think they’re gorgeous).

First pic = one of my “dream rings” before we got engaged. Second pic = my ring. My guy didn’t snoop at any photos, ask anyone (his OR my family/friends) for help, and made it a complete surprise. HE DID SO GOOD!!!

Our rings are very similar. The rings i liked on pinterest boards were not the ones i like in the store. I like all the bling rings in the pictures but when i tried them i didn’t like how they looked on me. I knew i wanted something with a twist so when i saw this ring i just knew it was the one. I picked the complete opposite of what i thought i liked.

I didn’t get anything close to what I was hoping for! I still get sad when I see ones I love 🙁

Almost identical, just the prongs are a bit different 🙂

We ordered it together so I got exactly what I wanted! But, I wish I would have physically tried on more rings before making such a big choice.

I had about five nightmares of getting proposed to with hideous rings, so I was always worried. Then I started to rethink the twist shank. But once he proposed, none of that mattered! I loved the ring and I love him a million times more!
