SomeBlonde:  love that! Is it an antique or did you have it made?

I had wanted an emerald cut or a pear with a halo for ages, I used to pin diamons and morganites. I ended up with an emerald cut diamond with tapered baguettes, which I like very much, but it’s not 100% me. So we are having it reset into a double halo 🙂

In an ideal world I would have worn my Great Granmothers ring. Sadly, the band was too worn and could not be built up. Orginally, her stone was an east to west garnet but the prongs were shot and also could not be fixed. I had a new round head put in the orginal basket and wear it from time to time. So I went on a hunt to find something just like it. This is the orginal ring:

And here is mine (pretty close!!!) It never really looks as good in pictures as in person. I need to work on that.

I always wanted mine to look just like my mom’s. 1 carat round solitaire on a plain white gold band. The only difference is mine is 4 prong and hers is 6.

flipsflops:  WOW WOW WOW. I absolutely love your ring! It is one of my favourites I’ve ever seen on here. So gorgeous, I love emeralds. The ring my fiancé proposed with was an emerald and I would have been thrilled to wear it every day for the rest of my life.

He got me my dream ring. I’ll post a stock picture because my hands look awful right now haha.

I picked my ring so I got my dream ring. I knew I always wanted a simple, small solitaire with a round diamond. I love it.

I got engaged way before Pinterest existed and before the internet was a thing — LOL. So, I’m not sure I ever had a “dream” ring in that respect.

But, I always imagined myself wearing a plain solitaire with a domed band and about a 1 carat stone, set in white gold or platinum. Something like this:

DH and I went ring shopping together. It was what both of us wanted to do, and we both had a lot of fun and made some great memories looking for our ERing. And we both ended up gravitating toward something completely different from what I had always pictured.

This is my actual ERing. This is what she looked like before her recent “facelift”: 5 stone setting with two rounds, two baguettes, and a round center. Set in 18K YG because WG was basically unavailable when we got engaged. None of the jewelers we went to carried anything in WG.

I loved — and still do love! — my ERing, even though it’s pretty far from what I first pictured having. We had a long engagement (6 years), and I wore it all that time, pretty much 24/7.

Earlier this month, I had a little bit of a facelift done to my ERing to replace the baguettes, which always kind of bugged me, with blue sapphires. Now, she looks like a whole new ring, and I have to say I love her even more.

buckeyebee:  a LONG time ago, I always loved the classic look of the solitaire on a plain band, and then dressing it up with a sparkly wedding band. But, as the years went on… my tastes changed.

When DH and I started talking marriage, I started looking at ring designs online. OK, who am I kidding… I had already started looking a LONG time ago! The ones I had pinned/saved were always round, as that was the style I liked. But, I noticed looking back that a lot of them were round halos and not the square halos. But, then again… some had the square so I was mainly looking for a halo as well.

I did actually pin the ring I got WAY before we got engaged and actually looked at it, but was always looking at a differnt one 9similar style) based on price. DH said the price was fine, so I actually ended up with the ring that I wanted and couldn’t happier.

Yes, I look at others now and think those would be nice to have, but love mine. I love everyone’s stacks and all of the different bands, but we did make it a little custom by adding another band to it, when it originally only came with the e-ring and one wedding band. It’s perfect.

My ring is exactly what I wanted & exceeded my expectations – I showed my fiancé pictures of my dream ring 1-1.5 ct cushion cut center in a cushion halo and he got me a 2ct center – I absolutely love my ring 😁
