14 hour drive to the in-laws, something like 24 hours to my parents.  Or a five hour flight, including stopovers.  We were already here prior to marriage though.

We live within walking distance of Father-In-Law.  MIL is about 30 minutes away and my parent’s are about 40 minutes away.

I get along great with my Father-In-Law, and it’s also nice because he likes to cook and cut grass, so we get the benefits of that. lol

southerncharm:  We live about thirty minutes from his mom, dad, brother and sister. Not too bad of a drive for any of us to visit.

FI and I currently live 9 hours from my family and 12 hours from his. We don’t plan on moving, so it will stay the same.

We are moving right before our wedding to my home state and away from his home state/our current state. We’ll be about 25 minutes from my parents, with whom we are both very close, and about an hour and a half from his parents, with whom we are not close. We’ll still be commuting to our current state for work, though, so it doesn’t seem like that much of a difference.

We have lived in the same city as both sets of parents our whole relationship. I’m hoping to move across the country – anywhere really. At first we were moving farther away from the parents but still in the same city but this last move put us within 5min and 15min of our parent’s houses. They don’t pop in. It is rude to pop in.

southerncharm:  we’re about an hour and 15 minute drive from my inlaws. I think we see them fairly often (a couple of times a month), but they’ve complained in the past that they wish we are closer. They stopped complaining once I pointed out that we were a 25 minute drive away until they were the ones that moved!

southerncharm:  We are in the same neighborhood, like 3 blocks away. When I first moved in they were popping in and out and now keep it to a minimum. I dont mind at all, its really helpful with the dog haha!

We will be where we’re already at after marriage. Currently we live about 10 min from both my mom and his parents. It’s not nearly as bad as I expected it to be! Future Mother-In-Law hasn’t made any surprise visits thank goodness!! Lol

We (FIL) will live all live near Philly and surrounding suburbs – around 20 minutes from all of his family whereas my family will be an hour and a half away in Hershey. Both fi and I work at UPenn and the benefits are too great to leave (sadly – I miss my mom tons!).

we live on the same street. when we I first moved in with my Fiance I was so afraid his parents were going to be stopping by all the time. They never come unannounced and are a really great help when we need things, thank god I get along with them so well. My parents live about 15 minutes from us as well, so I’m really close to both families.

We already live together, but we live about 30m drive away from each of our parents (they actually live really close to each other). My mom is moving, so she’ll be 45m or so away.

It’s not an issue for my family, as they drive down to us no problem. His parents refuse to drive to visit us, so we always have to drive to them. We are still all in the same city, just on opposite ends.
