15-20 minute drive. :-/  A little anxious about it (moving there this Friday!)

We are about 20 minutes away from my in-laws and 35 minutes from my parents. I wish it was reversed, because my parents always take care of our puppy and it would be easier, but it is nice having them all close, but not TOO close.

My inlaws live about 3-5 minutes away, but we don’t see them very often, maybe once a month on average. My parents live almost an hour away, and I see them more than my in-laws.

We live a 1h45min-2h flight from my family and a ~1h flight from his. We see my parents way more though, because I’m more proactive about scheduling trips home.

southerncharm:  same country (US), different states. We live in MD, and Future In-Laws moved to NC a few months ago. They are only about a 6 hr drive away.

We’ll be in the same situation that we’re in now. Fiance and I live in the same city as both our parents – it takes us about 10 minutes to drive to my FMIL’s or to my dad’s and about 15 minutes to drive to my mum’s. As I still have young siblings (13, 7 and 4) and my Fiance has 2 young nephews (3 and 1), I don’t think we’ll be moving away from our families anytime in the future.

We lived in different countries when Darling Husband and I married, but jobs brought us and them to the same state. It was unexpected, but it’s also been nice to have more visits with them.

We live about a 7 hour drive (4 states away) – same as before we were married so nothing changed. We live down the street from my parents, which is also the same as before marriage. We’re actually trying to get the ILs to move here and I think they might be game!

If we buy my parents’ farm…there is a good possibility my parents could live literally 300 yards away.  I’m not sure my husband is ready for that.  😉

Unfortunately not nearly as far as I’d like.

southerncharm:  We’ll be about a 4 hour flight from his parents, and a 9 or 10 hour drive from mine (a bit under 9 from my dad and stepmom, 10 from my mom).

The closest family for both of us is a 3 hour drive (his brother and some cousins are 3 hours southwest, and my cousins and grandparents are 3 hours north).

We currently live about 50 minutes away from my Future Father-In-Law and about 35 minutes away from Future Mother-In-Law. It’ll be about the same once we get married in a year, but we are moving across the country 11 months after we get married. And my in-laws have no idea.. (yet) 😛

We’re several states away from them, and I’d never move any closer.
