It was important to me that my dress was comfortable, which for me meant not too heavy. Everything else is a matter of fit: how easy it is to sit, whether it rides up or slips down, etc. I got married in Florida and the ceremony and reception were both outside (in March on the beach, so it wasn’t that bad, but still) and I did not want to feel gross or hot or sweaty.

I picked the gown I thought was most beautiful, but I also made sure I could sit in it too.  Its a large ballgown, so appearance trumped comfort a little bit.

Comfort is not important to me.  It has never been important to me (except when sleeping, hiking, or working out).  That being said, my dress is pretty comfortable 🙂  I can even sit in it!

PS please clarify if 1 or 5 is most comfortable.

Being comfortable was SUPER important to me.  I wanted to be able to dance, and use the bathroom by myself.  My dress was super comfortable.

Does 1 mean most comfortable or is 5 most comfortable?  I’m not sure how to vote…

My dress is comfy.  The hoop might make it a little awkward to sit but I haven’t practiced much.

My dress was a huge tulle ballgown. actually felt pretty comfortable in the salon, but turned out to be very uncomfortable when actually “living” in it. walking was actually difficult.

It still looked fab, so I don’t really care 😉

My dress is tulle and a little hard to walk in without a hoop. I’m not sure if it is hot or if I get so nervous I start to sweat when I put it on…or if the salon had the heat way too high. The hoop cools me off though.

@bakergirl:  I based my dress whether I could dance in it. I’m not a good dancer but I enjoy it and Ive spent £600 on a band so I will be tearing up the dance floor!

I also found that the majority of dresses were too heavy and far too hot for me not to get annoyed. I was flustered just in the trying-on process and I cant carry off feeling uncomfortable, Id let the world know!

I voted “4” – I was pretty comfortable in my dress, but it did get a little overwhelmingly hot with all of the guests at the wedding!

Extremely comfortable! Light, flowy, not restrictive at all its perfect for me! I definitely wanted to have a beautiful dress and also wanted to be comfortable all night and be able to dance/sit/eat without being uncomfortable and lucky for me that all came together into my dream dress 🙂

My dress is probably a 3, maybe a 4. It fits perfectly, but it is a mermaid cut gown and very heavily beaded (Allure c200), so it is a little heavy. Totally worth it, though. The look is exactly what I wanted and while comfort was a factor in my decision, it was way down the list for me!

Mine works out to be quite comfy. I like that it is not strapless, because then I have peace of mind that I won’t be tugging at it all night.

I am more concerned with my hair being worry free! Like I play with it to much if it is down, so I will probably wear it up.
