i know a while back a girl did this to get her breast implants and it worked. i guess it just have to be catchy and be able to spread the word to make it work and have a reason to ask for the money

Make sure what you are doing isn’t illegal or a scam first…

Well, this probably wouldn’t make you 100,000, but you could do surveys on mechanical turk. It’s a service run by amazon, and you complete questionairres and make money. The cool thing is psychology researchers have jumped on it, and a lot of the surveys you would do would be contributing to someone’s Ph.D., which is a fun side effect. Not sure how much you make, though.

I dont’ get this. Why would I give a stranger $1 to help pay off her debt. I’m pretty sure 90% of people on this board have student loan debt too. Why not get a job abd pay them off like everyone else does. You took out your student loans in the first place to get a degree than a job, no?

@peachacid:   Hmmmmm.  From what I’ve heard recently, there seems to be very good money in just standing on the street corner posing as a “homeless” person.  Some people take in quite a bit.  Not sure how safe or creative that is, though, lol.

Otherwise, I’m interested in seeing what kinds of ideas you come up with.

You could always just place an ad that is honest and says what you want, and please send a dollar.  Lots of people probably would send money to help someone pay off their student loan, weird as that sounds.

You’ll have to pay taxes on it, though – it’s income – so keep that in mind.  🙂

Bake sale! In all seriousness, I’m much more willing to donate $1 in cash than $1 over the internet. If you can do something where you’re face-to-face with people you might have more luck.

Also, check out TaskRabbit. It’s a website that let you do odd jobs for other people in your area for cash (laundry, grocery shopping, etc.).
