    It went up

    It went down

It didn't affect it, it stayed the same

I have been on some form of hormonal birthcontrol for 12 years. It’s never done anything to me one way or the other. I’ve used a couple of different brands of the pill, I have tried Nuvaring, and I currently have Mirena. Only side effect I had was nausea with the pill that stopped after using it for a couple of months.

@HopefulSim:  I’ve been on the pill for ten years (since I was 13 for awful inconsistent periods, and then for birth control), and my sex drive has always been high. Not sure if the pill affects it because I’ve never been off of it to see, but I don’t have any complaints!

@HopefulSim:   not all bc wil have the same effects. When I was on depo my drive was non existant. Its the same hormone as the mini pill. It think it was mostly just due to the irregular bleeding progestin only methods cause. With the pill and the ring its the same as always.

Pretty much all BC lowers mine but Mirena reduces it the least.

@HopefulSim:  When I fist started taking BCPs my drive went up because I knew I was protected.  However, when I went off BCPs after being on them for years, my sex drive went up even more because I was off them (I think my body was trying to convince me to TTC even though we weren’t quite ready yet.)

@cuddlz88:  Mine too. I have zero sex drive. Ive had my pill switched so many times due to my medical insurance suddenly not insuring my pill or having insane breakthrough bleeding. Not to mention my period is totally irregular. This is the 2nd month Ive skipped it altogether. And for sure Im not pregnant ๐Ÿ™

I had been on the pill for about 12 years. At first it really didn’t have an effect on me, but then again it was also competeing with teenage horomones. I noticed my sex drive going down in the recent years (about 6 years after being on the pill). I just came off the pill a few months ago since my DH and I started to TTC and my sex drive just sky rocketed. Like I wanted/want it every day twice a day and so much more.

BC made my sex drive take a dive, but i didnt notice right away. It took me like 2 years (poor FI) to notice how irritable, depressed and no sex drive-y I was. Right after i realized I just threw out the rest of my pills and I’m back to my happy, wanting-sex self! whew ๐Ÿ™‚

I am suspicious of hormones now…. I was researching birth control options and came across a thing called RISUG/Vasalgel for men. It’s not approved (yet) for use in the US, but there are trials that are set to happen within the next few years. Its an injection into the vas deferens that damages all the sperm, but is reversible!! I Waaannnttt (for Fiance of course lol). He’s on board and will be like the first to sign up lol

Shameless plug because i want this: http://www.parsemusfoundation.org/vasalgel-home/

I’ve been on my pills for about 8 years. My sex drive has decreased dramatically about 2 or 3 years ago :/
But I’d rather have a low sex drive than get pregnant right now lol. I just hope that my libido picks up when we’re actually TTC and I get off the pill..

Birthcontrol killed my sex drive and it hasn’t really come back since I stopped taking it years ago.

@HopefulSim:  I am on mini pill too, but my sex drive wasn’t impacted either way.
