About 6 weeks ago I asked, “How about October 23rd?”  He responded, “OK.”

That was it.  πŸ™‚

We wanted August 2013 because it was after he plans on taking the bar and before I plan on starting grad school. The 17th is in the middle of the month so hopefully he won’t be too drained and I’ll have time to prep for school in the couple weeks after the wedding.

To be honest, we’re eloping so it was pretty simple since we didn’t have to find a venue or anything.  All I had to find was a celebrant and a photographer and Tuesdays are pretty open for them.  πŸ™‚

First weekend in May… happened to be Cinco De Mayo…. wasnt super attached to it until we visited a potential venue… they were already booked (13 months out) and I realized I wasnt willing to shift the date haha… so we found another place… and it was great πŸ™‚

It was a combination of the dates our venue had available, when I wasn’t going to be on my period and when it wouldn’t be too hot outside.

We wanted to get married outside….we live in Florida so it was easy. March….perfect temps….before bugs and before hurricane season.

I wanted September because it’s good weather. But I picked the 15th because I get my period around the 1st and didn’t want it too close to November. So bam, 15th. Lol.

I knew I didn’t want to get married before age 25 and thought it’d be sweet to marry on our anniversary. By our 10th anniversary, July 4, 2014, we’ll both be 26. It seemed so perfect, so I suggested it and he agreed.

It was when our venue was available on a Saturday in June…and it turned out to be FI’s mom and dad’s wedding anniversary! πŸ™‚

We wanted a July wedding, but the resort we wanted to get married at wouldn’t do weddings in July because they are so busy with vacationers. They suggested August 25th, and we agreed πŸ™‚

I always knew it would be in October. It’s my fav month. The temperature is just right; Halloween (fav holiday) and my FI’s bday are both in October. Out of the Saturday dates, the 6th, 13th, the 20th, and the 27th-we elimintated two right off the bat-the 13th bc of the number, and the 27th bc the 28th is the FI’s bday. After talking to an engaged friend who was also planning her wedding in October we decided Fiance and I would take the 6th, and she and her Fiance would take the 20th to avoid having the same date and potentially split our large group of mutual friends. It seem to be fate bc that was the only date our church had available. =)

  • Wedding: July 2013

We recently changed our date from June 1, 2013 – which had no rhyme, reason, or significance to us – to July 13, 2013 – which has a much cooler back story πŸ˜‰

FI’s favorite number is 13. He was born on December 13 and was the 13th grandchild in his family. He weighed 7lbs, 13 ounces. He had his 13th birthday on Friday the 13th. And now he’ll be getting married on July 13, 2013 πŸ˜‰

LOL

I could care less about the date, but he loves it so it works πŸ™‚

I knew I wanted a May wedding, not too hot and not too cold. He wanted a Saturday wedding so it would be easier for travel. He graduates the 4th, I graduate the 18th, one of my good friends is getting married the 25th. So that settled it.
