Love the Ferris wheel proposal! Congrats!

My husband proposed at 3:10am (significant time, was our first kiss and he said “3 oh 10” because he was so nervous) in our living room. I had bedhead and was in my pajamas, and I was still half-asleep. It was the one of the most romantic moments of my life anyway. πŸ™‚

Congratulations!  My husband proposed at a local beauty spot where we’d had our first date.  We often stopped off there for a few minutes on our way home after an evening out, but this time I was wondering why we were still wandering round looking at the view when it had started to rain – I didn’t realise he was waiting for a bunch of other people to leave so he could propose in private!

Thats such a sweet engagement. My fiance proposed on a walk on the waterfront near where we live, we were on our way out to date night like we use to do every wednesday. He had written a letter in the cover of a book instead of a proposal speech (we get each other a book every special occasion and write in the front instead of getting a card)

Mine also had another plan. We were meant to be with family in the snowy mountains at Christmas but covid prevented us. He wanted to ask me in the snow on top of the mountain. The day we found out we couldn’t fly was the conjucture of Saturn and Jupiter and the solstice and he took it as some kind of *cosmic sign* and proposed in our local park while we were stargazing in the lashing rain πŸ˜‚ safe to say we were entirely alone which I’m thankful for πŸ™‚

Aww, that’s lovely, OP! My husband proposed the way he planned, in front of the fountains at the Bellagio in Vegas. He came up with the idea a year or so before we got engaged because Vegas is a special place for us. The only thing that didn’t exactly go to plan is that I was supposed to be all dolled up because our flight was supposed to land at 10 am and the plan was to stroll the strip immediately after checking into our hotel, and then celebrate the engagement. However, our first plane had a crack in the window and we ended up super delayed and landing at 10 pm. By then, I had been up for 22 hours and felt like crap. He insisted on doing one “Vegas-y thing” to salvage our first day, but didn’t want to tell me to dress up because he was afraid of tipping his hand. In our photos I’m wearing a v-neck tee and leggings and have huuuuge bags under my eyes. Haha it was still perfect!

He didn’t. I did. I made him his favorite brunch and surprised him with it, at a place where we could watch our favorite parade. I made a photo book of our life events and got him engraved cufflinks. A speech felt canned so I just got a card and wrote a question-mark on the inside.

We had been together 19 years.  I had always been fairly anti-marriage, largely because of seeing lots of bad marriages around me including those of my parents and siblings.  We were having breakfast on the patio on an ordinary day on Labor Day weekend.  All of a sudden he blurted out “We really ought to get married – will you marry me?”  I was (and still am after 25 years of marriage) so in love with him that I said “Yes!!”  We got married five weeks later on a cool rainy beautiful October day.

So apparently mine wanted to propose at some fancy restaurant, and had me get a new dress and everything. Then covid hit and i refused to go out anywhere he wanted to take me. We ended up having a snow storm here and we were snowed in. I was in sweats, no makeup, an ugly bright orange hoodie, and purple boots taking pictures with him in the snow πŸ˜‚ he took that opportunity to hold out a ring for awhile and i didn’t even know because I was too busy getting our pics until he had me look down 🀣 then i fell on my butt when we stepped inside our house it was so slippery. The photos are funny though because you srr him just waiting for me to notice lol
