I actually just posted about how he proposed! Long story short, weather was beautiful (rainbows), nature was amazing (deer within feet of us!) and it just seemed like we were meant to be. Sounds cheesy I know! HAHA Want the full story?  Go here.

My fiance proopes to me in the computer section of Barnes & Noble. ๐Ÿ™‚ Barnes & Noble is where we met for the first time and since we’re both computer geeks we always sit in the computer section and spend hours reading and talking about that stuff. I think it was the best place ever! Good thing nobody was in that area at that moment cause I was crying. ^^

My Fiance knows how much I love christmas, so he waited until then.  He actually woke me up in the middle of the night on Christmas Eve to tell me that Santa had come and I had to come downstairs. He had laid out a path of fake snow from the backdoor to the tree with candles and put the ring under the tree. It was so sweet!

We took my fiance’s nieces and nephews and little sister to visit Santa Claus. He insisted that he and I take a picture on Santa’s lap. I thought it was a stupid idea, but agreed anyway. Santa asked me what I wanted for Christmas and I whispered in his ear, "A ring!" Lo and behold, Santa pulled out a box for me and my fiance got down on one knee and proposed right there in front of everyone. We got it on film, too!

Long story short, I punched him. =D

The full story is in my bio (http://bios.weddingbee.com/profile/jenniphyr), but basically I spoiled the surprise (for the third time!) so he joked that I’d have to wait…and so I punched him. Lightly! ‘Twas but a tap! And then he proposed. Hooray!

He went up to Toronto while I was at work, and set out candles and roses, and scattered the floor with rose petals in a hotel room he booked for us. Then he came back home, picked me up from work, and drove us back to Toronto. We had dinner at the CN Tower (this was only a few days after my birthday, so I suspected nothing), which was DELICIOUS, and then said he had booked us a hotel room for the night. We had brought our adorable puppy Abby with us, so I sat in the lobby with her while he (supposedly) checked us in, and made sure everything was ok. Meanwhile he had gone upstairs to light all the candles! I walked in and saw the gorgeous layout (not realizing he had come earlier in the day to do it all himself!) I was in shock, and and just said Awe, aren’t you romantic! He responded with You like it? And as I was turning around to give him a big smooch he said ‘Cause there’s something else, and was suddenly on his knee. All he got out of his mouth was I want to spend the rest of my life with you, and I dropped everything (I think I screamed Are you joking me right now? lol) I then jumped on him, pinned him on the bed and planted 100 kisses on his face lol. It was perfect ๐Ÿ™‚

on our 2 year anniversary we went out to dinner in the loop and then went for a walk down michigan ave.  we stopped at the bridge over the chicago river and it started to snow.  the city looked so beautiful that night.  my Fiance then said "you know what would make this a lot better?  if you would marry me."  and he pulled this box out of his jacket pocket and i was like ahhh!  it wasn’t cheesy just really him.  it was super cute.

all these stories are soooo romantic…ours…well…isn’t…we were at a bar (and very drunk by this time) with one of his fraternity brothers and two of my sorority sisters (we’re all SUPER close) and one of my sisters (my roommate at the time) goes to me you too should just get married…so i go Mr. thisisme will you marry me? he’s like no drunken proprosals…so i asked him about 5 more times and then he finally said yes!

according to our friends it was really cute how addamant i was about him saying yes to me asking him to marry me…of course in the morning we talked about it and decided that we really should get married. that was feb. 8, 2008 (our 9 month anniversary) and now it’s july 2, 2009 and we still haven’t set a date…but i have him convinced we need to and he was happily excited about doing so…but we haven’t yet! ha!

this is a pic from that night…we’re sooooo drunk! but we’re soooo happy! and that is VERY fake fur on my cheap jacket…this is from wi in the middle of winter so we need to be warm!

On the ice rink at Rockefeller Center New Year’s Eve at 3:00pm! It had been snowing all day and stopped just as everyone cleared the rink and he brought me out to the center. He got down on one knee – the entire crowd burst into cheers and applause while he asked me to marry him.

Later that night we had (already planned) a huge New Year’s party in our apartment with all of our close friends. I don’t think I stopped smiling for a second ๐Ÿ™‚

To make a long story short, my fiance started giving me hints (in all sorts of forms – cards, music, emails…etc) every week starting on Valentine’s day. Then, when March came he told me his sister was coming to visit on the first week of April and that they were thinking of going to Montreal for that weekend. He said he’d buy the tickets on his credit card just so we could all seat together and then I could give him the money later…I said okay, sounds like fun! April 02nd came around, his sister called to say she couldn’t make it, and he said we should go anyway…so I packed my bags and went to work (I was going to the airport straight from work). 4:30pm comes, and he calls me saying "I’m in a cab outside your office, come down!" so I go down and we head to the airport together. When we got to the airport I realized we were on a completely different terminal…I kept telling him "honey, we’re on the wrong terminal" but all he’d say was "just, wait…and don’t ask any questions". When we got to the check- in counter, I found out we were actually going to PARIS! I started flipping out! Paris is my all time favorite city in the world. When I asked him why we were going there, he said…"you’ve been working so hard, you deserve a weekend away". I was COMPLETELY clueless…all I could think about was…wow, that is so nice of him! He told me then, to call my boss and tell her that I was going to need Monday off as well (this was on Thursday. So I’d be gone from Thurs. – Mon.)

When we got to Paris, the cab took us to our hotel (Hotel Raphael). When we got to our suite, I realized that it was the same suite where Natalie Portman filmed the short film "Hotel Chevalier" that showed before the movie "The Darjeeling Limited" which had been one of the first movies we watched together. He had asked the hotel to buy 3 bouquets of Sunflowers (my favorite) and place them all around the suite. The hotel crew knew everything that was happening (he had been talking to them since February)… so they were looking at me funny and kept sending complimentary chocolates and champagne to the room…I had no idea why! I just thought they were being nice.

Later that night, after coming back from dinner, we opened a bottle of wine and went to hang out at the balcony…a few hours later he proposed right there! I couldn’t stop crying….it was my dream proposal. =) [attachment=247045,27375]

He had set up an elaborate plan involving EVERYONE we knew, but kept me totally in the dark!  Long long long story short, he brought me back to the place where we had our first kiss (kind of also where we first met) under false pretenses and brought me over to kiss in the same spot.  When we got done kissing, he dropped to one knee and asked me to marry him!  I thought he was tying his shoe lol…till I realized he was wearing flip flops (we’re both former Abercrombie upper management) and was holding my DREAM ring!  I still smile when I think of it

Ok, i’m going to add a little bit more to my post because it doesn’t sound romantic, at all, which for all intense/purposes it’s not…but i will add this: my FH and i are not drunks…we like to go out and have a few beers with our friends…8 feb 2008 was a perfect day…we were with 3 of our closest friends, at one of our fav. bars and having our fav drinks (beer, we are from wisconsin after all)…so for me, it was perfect, especially since that night while walking back to my place, it started to snow!! it was AWESOME!! ๐Ÿ˜€

We had just come home from a long weekend vacation with a few friends and were going to head to my brother’s that night for a little BBQ. We were just sitting on the couch in our condo watching a little TV. My husband calls it the "scene of the crime". He was so nervous that he forgot to get down on one knee, but he told me that he had to ask me something, but he was afraid that I would be really angry with him, so he made me promise not to get mad. Of course, I’m thinking the worst, and he asks, "Well, I was just wondering if you would marry me."

He didn’t have the ring out yet, so I had this really confused look on my face. He then brought the ring out of his pocket, and I took one glance and started bawling. Of course I said yes  I then got to show it off at the BBQ later on…it was great!!!
