That’s really cute. Your SO sounds like quite the romantic!

My Fiance said I love you for the first time while we were making out in his parents basement. Lol! We had been friends for a long time, but only dating for about 3 weeks. I was thrown for a loop and didn’t quite feel love yet so I said “Thank you”. He was crushed! I said it a few weeks later… Poor guy.

I accidentally said it a few times without him actually hearing me from about a month after we got together.

He said it for the first time after we’d been to a big club night and I’d thought he’d been flirting with other women. We got in our first big argument and he’d insisted on driving back to his house (two hours away). He was sober but really tired so I spent the whole trip back trying to keep us both awake (we even had to pull over to sleep for half an hour). I was terrified and furious (as I’d offered to pay for a hotel room) so we weren’t on good terms when we got back to his house.

We went to bed and I had turned my back on him. He said “Come on, you know I love you.” I turned ’round and said, “No, I didn’t.”

It took me a few minutes to say it back. No boyfriend/girlfriend had ever said they loved me before (I’d had really bad boyfriends) so I was really excited.

In talking last night, we established that it was probably actually love at first f*ck, but that’s not one to be shared in polite company.

He said it to me on our one month anniversary haha. It was a month before we started our last year of highschool and we were hanging out in his room and he said ‘I love your mind, your body, your personality, your eyes, your face, I just love everything about you. I love you, Tab’. It was so cute!

Then I said ‘I love you too’ and he said it felt like fireworks going off haha. It was our first time either of us ever told someone we loved them in the romantic sense πŸ˜‰

Mine said it over text after two days of us talking to each other. I thought it was so romantic and so perfect for how he and I met. πŸ™‚

We were having sex and he asked me if it was ok if he said he loved me lol.

Our relationship started very awkwardly, though. I had recently broken up with my ex of 7 years and was really trying not to attach myself emotionally to anyone. I wanted to keep our affair casual but that clearly didn’t work, thank God

we were just hanging out and then he suddenly grabbed my shoulders, looked me dead in the eye and said “I love you”.

My fi took two years to tell me!  He wrote it in a Valentine’s day card because we were living on opposite coasts. I wasn’t expecting it at all.  I had never said it and no other boyfriend had ever told me either. He told me a few days later over the phone.  It did take a long time, but he takes a lot of time to come to a decision, I guess that’s why it took him 6 years to propose!  He’s a HYPSM trained engineer who is very logical, perhaps to a fault, but he’s mine and I love him so much πŸ™‚

We were at a bar with a group of his friends and we had gone to a table in the corner just us–I should mention he can be very shy. He said “what do you think when people say I love you?” and I said “what?” And he replies “because I do.” haha so cute, but I said “What? You have to actually say it!” So then he told me. We were both young and it was the first time either of us had said it to anyone. There was also a time a while before that when we were in the car and he was singing and the lyrics said “I love her” and he sang it and then kind of looked at me funny to see if I noticed. But we count the first one as our official first I love you.

We were at a 3 day music fest in the mountains and during a Matisyahu concert we were freezing and cuddled up together in a blanket on the lawn and he just said “I have to tell you, I’m in love with you”. It was so loud I don’t even know if he could hear me say it to but I just turned around to kiss him and mouth it back.

Well seeing as he was 16 and I was 17 he wrote on my arm in yellow highlighter and I couldn’t see what he wrote so I had to track down a black light… and it said “I Love You”

Cheesy I know, but we were in High School. πŸ™‚

We were just out of high school and it was our first love.  He told me one night as we were making out, in a surprised tone as he’d just realized it, “Shit, I think I’m falling in love with you!”  haha.

When we first started dating we would sometimes go to his house (he was living with his parents at the time) and there was a frame of him and his ex Girlfriend in some old highschool photo in his room.  It was the only picture in there and it ALWAYS bothered me. I mean who wants to see that?  Anyways I did not say anything about it at first because it was a new relationship and we rarely went over there, I asked why he had it and he said his mom put it up (which is understandable, not many guys put up photos in frames).  Then maybe four months into our relationship we went over there and I made some snarky comment about it, which led into an arguement. He ended up throwing the frame on the floor, shattering it.  Then told me that she meant nothing and that he f***ing loved me.

I know that sounds like he has anger problems but he is the most mellow guy and is very cool headed.  It was not “sweet and romantic” but it was still pretty awesome being told that no one who came before me mattered and that he loved me at the same time πŸ˜‰
