I totally wanted to do something creative, like make our guests sing part of a love song if they wanted us to smooch, but it was an over sight. I didn’t even remember until we got the first dreaded clink. Call it tacky but I actually said “You get one!” to our guests since I hate the clinking and I find it really annoying. Luckily our guests got the hint.

I had never heard of this kind of thing until I got on weddingbee. I had read some people use “kissing bells” though.  I’m not planning to have anything like this though–I only kiss on my own terms!

I bought beautiful ceramic bells at dollar tree that people could take home.  We had a few per table and made cute little signs to go with them.  I apparently bought more than I though because I just found a bag of them that we forgot to take with us that day just two days ago.

I recently saw posted on here someone using a 20 sided dice.  And I thought that was awesome!!!!

They said that if the person rolled 1 – 10 they had to kiss someone.  And if the person rolled 11 – 20 then the Bride and Groom would kiss.

I wish I could remember who posted it.  But it is such a fab idea!!!!!!!!!!!

@Firie:

We are doing dice! (a large 6-sided one used in my FSIL’s classroom).  We were just trying to brainstrom what all the 6 sides would represent – and I LOVE this idea of making the guests have to kiss someone else!!! Wonderful!

 @Firie: I saw the 20 sided dice thing on Offbeat Bride a few days ago: http://offbeatbride.com/2011/12/funny-wedding-program

I love their entire wedding program though, it’s funny and original!  Since Fiance and I are both gamers, we might do something similar to this for our wedding.

I knew that if we didn’t think of something, people would be clinking. So our guests had to get up and kiss…and then we had to imitate the kiss. It was fun and pretty G rated with the exception of one.

@kelmac I went to a wedding where they did this and it was super cute… they would pull a couples name out of a hat up on the main table they would have to demonstrate a kiss and then the bride and groom would copy the kiss.. so there were some pecks on the cheek.. some kisses.. some crazy dip and kiss lol

At Russian weddings, it’s traditional for people to shout out “gorka” which means Bitter, so the bride and groom have to kiss to make it sweet. People will be shouting it all night, the mc will be encouraging people to shout it, every toast and speech ends in a gorka. Granted, this will only make sense if you and most your guests are Russian.

At my friends wedding guests had to hula hoop and the bride and groom had to kiss for as long as they kept the hula hoop going. It was silly/fun for a little while and didn’t end up as an all night thing as with clinking glasses.

LOVE the dice idea. We are going to be using this, but going to try to limit the strangers kissing. I dont want to scare them.. plus its more kisses for us!
