Originally I wanted Peonies in my bouquet and they’re popular in May and June, didn’t want May as there are two bithdays already. Thought about September but wanted as light an evening as possible and June reminds me of my Grandad who was as good as my Dad and his birthday was in June.

Okay so Darling Husband joined the Navy and then proposed to me in June ’11. In August ’11, I figured out when (TMI) my period would be in November, which was the latest month we could get married and get all the military paperwork done before bootcamp. Then we picked November 4,5,6 since it was really up to the convenience of our pastor and we talked to our him and he said the 5th would work so we went with that!

We live in Texas and refuse to have a wedding when its balls hot out lol. So we went with November 9. He proposed this year on November 9th and Ive been liking the weather weve been having! I can only hope for the same in 2013!

We simply picked the first day of my spring break so that we would be able to honeymoon for a bit after the wedding.
Your reasons are good and they are far enough out where you will likely be able to book the venues for the exact date you want. (Some people have to pick a date based on when the venues they want are available.)

Our venue ultimately picked our date for us. We knew that we wanted a fall wedding and that we’d have to go with a Friday because of budget and guest count limitations. They only had a few Fridays left in October 2011 so we opted to go with the 7th because we *thought* it would be peak fall foliage. Oh how wrong we were. The leaves didn’t really change until the following week but we did luck out with the most amazing weather imaginable (65 degrees and not a cloud in the sky). If we would have gone with the following week, which was available at the time, the foliage would have been nice but we wouldnt have been able to enjoy it since it was storming and cold the whole day.

We knew we wanted a Spring wedding. We got engaged in June 2010 and we were in the middle of moving from Florida to Texas so knew 2011 was out. Wanted it on the beach so before the time change so people weren’t eating super late. Our venue had the first 2 weekends in March open so we took the 10th because I have a thing about even numbers 🙂 Once we decided on a venue our date was really easy

We are getting married exactly a year to the day he proposed. Yay for the leap year – he randomly proposed on a Thursday (21 July) which due to the leap year falls on a Saturday next year.

Like ShellVee, we are getting married one year from the date he proposed as well! The date happens to fall on a Friday next year, which works out because our venue was already booked for all of the Saturdays in July.

I didn’t read through every single comment, but another determining factor for me was scheduling around my cycle. I wanted to make sure that I wouldn’t have my period the week of the wedding or the week of the honeymoon.

first choice was in the summer because our birthdays are 2 weeks apart, we where going to choose the weekend in beetween so every year we can take those 2 weeks off starting with my birthday, anniversary, then his birthday. That came and went and it just wasnt enough time.
So then our second date was our anniversary and I looooove October and Halloween and Autumn, So it was pretty easy. and I’m a stickler for numbers and my favorite number is 8 and then 2 so October 28 was perfect.
