Hi bees! I’m curious about how you announced your engagement online. Mr. Joseph is going to pop the question sometime over the next couple of months, so I’ve been thinking about cute or creative ways we could share the news! And we’re going to tell our family members and close friends before we post it on Facebook 🙂

Congrats! I don’t have facebook so I just texted or called my close friends and family. My husband posted the cheesy selfie we took right after we were engaged, with me holding up my left hand. Haha! Your friends will be excited no matter what, so I wouldn’t overthink it!

We just changed it from “in a relationship” to “engaged”. I’ve never posted a picture of my ring. I find self-congratulatory posts tacky

We didn’t really make a FB announcement. We had gotten engaged in September and told family, but nothing on FB. After Thanksgiving, we put up the Christmas tree and my dad took a picture of us in front of it. I posted that on FB without an engagement announcement or anything, but people saw my ring and figured it out then.

He proposed on vacation and I posted a pic of us saying we were engaged.

I posted a picture on Instagram about a week after we got engaged. I made sure to personally tell all of my close friends and family before posting anything on social media. I don’t really use FB so I didn’t do anything on there.

I didn’t get to break the news of our engagement or do anything fun on social media. DH proposed to me at our housewarming party in front of most of our family. His little sister posted it on Facebook literally two seconds after it happened and kind of stole my thunder…. oh well….

I posted a picture of us together and a close up of the ring in a Facebook status announcing our engagement and changed my Facebook status to engaged.

We waited two weeks to tell family and friends and let it sink in. Then both of us posted with a few pics and changed the relationship status.
Fun fact: at least at the time (2 years ago), when you change your relationship status it only gives the name of the person you’re linking up with, not the profile pic. My (then) fiance had another friend with my exact same name, and he was terrified he’d accidentally pick the wrong one!
Thankfully he got it right. 🙂

We waited 24 hours to enjoy and make sure we told all our family and close friends. I just posted a picture of us in front of the Christmas tree holding my hand up (we got engaged 12/23, and shared on 12/24) and said “24 hours down, forever to go! We are engaged!”

My Fiance surprised me by having my family and his mom waiting at the restaurant when we arrived to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. He proposed in front of them and my dad recorded it on his phone and uploaded it on Facebook and tagged us.
