The first time I bought a onesie and an instruction guide for infants book.  I gave it to him after the fact though because I tested on Thanksgiving morning and it was very light and I didn’t want to give it to him on a maybe, but he had to know because we were visiting my family and there would be drink involved.  Sadly that one ended at 6 weeks.

This time I didn’t test right away, but he knew that I was pretty sure that I was.  I bundled a new onesie with the two tests that I took that morning and a card for him to read.  He was out of town when I tested, but he was coming home that evening, and would probably be home before i got home, so I left it in a spot where he could find it.  He read the card, and knew what was inside, but waited till I got home to open it.

The first time I put a bun in the oven with a positive digital test and told him something was wrong with the oven. He look in and was surprised.

This time I just jumped on him in bed and showed him the test, lol

I had all these grand plans and in the moment, it didn’t happen! The first time, I had him read the test for me because I was too nervous. Unfortunately that one ended at 10 weeks. I think I knew it wasn’t going to work out. I’m currently almost 34 weeks pregnant and with this one, I had “known” I was pregnant for about a week before it showed on a test. I was sick and the doctor prescribed me steroids, so I tested to make sure it was ok to take them. When I saw the 2 lines I ran downstairs and showed my husband. Props to you if you can keep it in long enough to surprise him with a gift! I just couldn’t do it!

First time, I gave him a onesie and a card (he cried). Sadly, that ended in a MC at 6 weeks.

Second time, I just told him. We were at his mum’s house, he was crazy busy with work and I was so scared of another MC. So I just told him. Dear Daughter is just over a year old πŸ™‚

This time, I tested at night as I was going to wineries the next day. Got a totally unexpected BFP (I’m 40, it was our first go trying for #2, and timing wasn’t that good). I was in a daze and walked downstairs with the test. I couldn’t even get words out. I’m only just over 6 weeks so hopefully all will work out!

mamabricker2016:  Ours was actually a funny story and a complete  surprise! πŸ™‚ I took a test on my lunch break because I was two days late (which never happens) and just had to know… Of course I freaked and wanted to call him but didnt because why would he want to find out the exciting news over the phone while at work!?? haha.

The day before I bought a chair off facebook from someone, ironically the chair was a mini-child sized chair and I didn’t realize it until I got home.(HAHA) Because of this my Darling Husband kept making fun of me about the chair and I cried, SO SILLY, but I felt dumb. haha.

The next day when I found out I brought the chair back down and put it in front of the garage entry door, along with a jewelry box with a note and the two tests inside that said “I guess we will be using this chair sooner than we thought! Congratulations Daddy!!!” and he was so excited!! haha He kept saying… are you servious! haha

mamabricker2016:  I had all these elaborate plans thought of for the time I would tell Darling Husband I was pregnant. I had gone out and bought pacifiers with his favorite football team logo on them, and got a cute box to put them in. The first time I found out I was pregnant, I took a test 100% expecting it to be a BFN and it was a BFP. I was so shocked my plan of making things all cute went out the window. I ran up to him as he was brushing his teeth and said “here, I bought these pacifiers for you.” He looked at me very confused, and said, “why would I need these?” Then I shoved the stick in his face and said, “that’s why!” Unfortuantely that pregnancy ended in a miscarriage around 5-6 weeks.

The second time I found out I was pregnant was totally different. I again tested (and super early at 8dpo) because something told me to test. I came down with the squintiest of squinters and said “do you see a second line?” It was sad to say, but there was definitely much less excitement the second time around.
