Does anyone have any cute ideas about asking their friends/family to be their bridesmaids?
Does anyone have any cute ideas about asking their friends/family to be their bridesmaids?
I found some cute cards on clearance that said “Will you be my bridesmaid?” They were only $0.98 for the entire pack at my local craft store! There was also a card for the maid of honor and the flower girl. I typed some personal notes into each one I was using, signed them, and sent them out. I had already asked my sister to be Maid/Matron of Honor and hs sister to be a bridesmaid, but I sent cards, anyhow. Since my ring bearer and flower girl are siblings, I used cardstock and a color printer to make a matching card for him (though I didn’t have the same color card stock, so I just used red and blue). I think this worked out well, though it may not be as creative as you’re looking for.
I actually have 4 blank, unfolded, un-printed-on “Will You Be My Bridesmaid?” cards left, if anyone who reads this is interested. I don’t need them, and would be willing to mail them to someone this week for free. Feel free to PM me with any interest!
I made the bridesmaid cards from once wed:

It was a little time consuming to make them all, but they turned out so cute. I should have taken a picture. I included a little card with each so that I could write a note to each girl about why she means so much to me, etc.
I found cute cards with a bride and bridesmaid on them that were blank inside, so I used those and wrote a little message in them. I scheduled a dinner for me and the girls at a nice restaurant. I had the hostess bring out a bottle of champagne and place the cards on the bread plates before we got there so when we got there, I could ask them and we could celebrate. They loved it! Too bad two of the three have been nightmares since!
Good luck 🙂
my bridesmaids are all over the country, so i couldnt ask them in person. i wanted to “surprise” them a little bit–they all secretly knew i was going to ask them.
anyway, i bought them personalized cards from etsy and they all LOVED them..i got several screaming phone calls when they arrived.
i got these in a dark pink color: http://www.etsy.com/listing/45151850/will-you-be-my-bridesmaid-maid-of-honor?ref=sr_list_4&ga_search_query=will+you+be+my+bridesmaid&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_page=2&includes%5B0%5D=tags&includes%5B1%5D=title
they were adorable!
I just… called them. I wasn’t on Wedding Bee at the time, and was so unaware of all the cute ways to ask. Plus all my bridesmaids pretty much knew they would be my bridesmaids, so it wasn’t a surprise per se. Now I feel like I missed out on something!
I didn’t like the idea of sending a card to them….I wanted it to be exciting, special and be there with them when I asked.
I “proposed” to my maid of honor. I have been best friends with her since 6th grade so we are really close. I wanted to get her a cute ring she could always wear and I found one….So..we went out for chines lunch and some drinks….I was so nervous to do it inside with all the roudy people…but as soon as we got outside and she was fidling with her car keys at her door….I got the ring box out of my purse and sat our take out boxes on the back of her car and got down on 1 knee….I said Jackie..and she turned around…and I said “Will you be my maid of honor”….she totally flipped and started crying and laughing and saying Awwww, Awwww….(I also wrote will you be my maid of honor inside the box)…But here is a pic!!
…o and of course she said yes!!
I just flat out asked them. lol.
But, I did see an idea online when I was digging around. Custom jugsaw puzzles! You write a note and tell them how fabulous they are and how much you love them and make it into a jigsaw puzzle and then give it to them. When they put it together, they read the note and joyfully accept. I loved it, but I was too lazy.
I bought these gorgeous Tiffany blue cards from a seller on Etsy:

They’re SO pretty. I’ve only given out one so far, but I adore them. The etsy vendor was really quick and professional, too.

@BecomingMrsWoods Did you give her a real diamond or a cubic zirconia from Nexus Labs?
