@kimbean:

unlike some brides on here i live very close to my bridesmaids, i brought 6 long stem red roses and nipped round to their houses, with a red rose for each of them, with a little tag attached to them, saying will you be my bridesmaid on them,  for example with my moh i walked in to her house, (i never knock, not rude, i’m just not expected to lol) she was sitting on the settee i kissed on the check and handed her the rose i was hiding behind my back, she loved it and simply replied i would be honoured… i did a very similar thing with each one, one of my junior bm is my moh daughter, but she was at school at the time so i popped the rose on her pillow for when she got home, i got a phone call from here later that day practically screaming with excitement…. was really sweet she’s only 8 years old, little cutie 🙂

@kimbean: glad you liked it, hope it goes well, i was overwhelmed with their reactions, it’s such a lovely feeling.

I filled mason jars with jelly bellies, and decorated them with pretty fabric on the top and twine. I attached a little card that read “my wedding day would be much sweeter with you by my side, Will you be my bridesmad?”

The girls all loved them!

All of my girls live in other cities so I made cards.

I used vintage hankies and had a custom rubber stamp made ($20) to stamp “Will you be my bridesmaid?”

I posted about the whole DIY process here

I have a candle shop where you can make your own candles, so I used my favorite jars (cut wine bottles) and made custom labels.  The front has the invitation, the back has a picture of me and the bridesmaid.  They freaking LOVED them and it made me very happy. 🙂

I had two locals and two in other states.  I took the two locals out to a pub and gave them theirs, and sent the others theirs in the mail.

@kimbean:  The glass is pretty sturdy from the get go, but I wrapped it in fiber tissue paper and bubble wrap, and put them in pretty snug cardboard boxes, then wrapped the box in a lot of packing tape.  No issues what so ever!

I am obsessed with Etsy, so I ordered some cute cards for them that had little dresses in my color on the front! They loved them!

I didn’t see another post about this!

I have been thinking about doing cards vis tinyprints.com. you can customize the cards with pictures and say whatever you want and they are printed for you and sent to your home. It is a much cheaper choice than most etsy shops and they are more customized.

I had some made for Valentines day to send to family members and they came out great!

I do want to add something extra with the card but I dont want to include jewelry, that I will give them to wear at my wedding. Does anyone have any ideas of trinkets or DIY presents to include? I do love the mason jar idea!

I found a picture of the most hideous dress I could, photoshopped my friends faces on there, and wrote “I promise I won’t make you wear this if you’ll be in my wedding”.  It was hilarious!  I got voicemails from all my girls just laughing.  It depends on how you want it to come across.  I’m not mooshy so I wanted it to be silly and fun 🙂
