The girls I want to ask to be in my wedding all live in different provinces, there is only one girl that lives in my city. I was thinking of sending them a card or a box full of goodies in the mail to ask them, but I also wonder if I should phone or wait till I see them in person. I know there’s many many ways to ask your lady friends, I want to hear how you girls did! Photos would be awesome too if you have them.

I used a pop the question box from Etsy – link here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/185749999/set-of-6-will-you-be-my-bridesmaid?ref=related-2 . My girls LOVED them and thought they were both ridiculously cute and ridiculously glittery (they pop with confetti!). I sent them in a box with a card.

Following this thread.

So far, all I’ve thought about was doing something with a Ring Pop candy. A friend gave this to me on pinterest.

I ding-dong-ditched my Maid/Matron of Honor just the other day with her gift!
I found a cute little saying online, and handwrote it in a card for her. Then I found other little sayings and wrote them on balloons!
The bottle of wine I chose is called ‘Sisterhood’, I thought it was pretty fitting since she has been the sister I never had.
Excuse the little designs, I had to steal this off her FB because I forgot to take any pictures!

Sending gifts and cards and stuff is not at all a thing where I come from. I did only have my sister up there with me, but the conversation went roughly like this:
– Do you want to be my MOH? You’ll be the only one and I’ll let you wear what you like.
– Not really, but I would have been upset if you hadn’t asked :-p Ok then, let’s do it.
It was so typical of my sister that it just made me laugh. She found her dress 2 weeks before the wedding, but helped so much with organising stuff that I didn’t care, she was great.

I called them on the phone, told them I was engaged, and asked them.

I only had to ask my sister (MOH) and Future Sister-In-Law (BM), as we’re having a small wedding. Here is what I gave my Bridesmaid or Best Man… and my Maid/Matron of Honor got the same thing except the card was different.

I threw together boxes for them in, no joke, 30 minutes lol.
Three of them got little bottles of skull vodka and one of them is only 20 (she’ll be 21 by the wedding) so I got her a jar of baby food. We’re a family of pranksters so the verbiage is more funny than saccharine.

Wow, I’m really impressed by all the fancy ways of asking bridesmaids. In my case, my best friend told me she had been talking with her older brothers and their SOs and the subject of me and my then-boyfriend came up (we weren’t even thinking about marriage at that point, btw.) My friends’ brothers basically told her that I would clearly be getting married soon so she should start “campaigning.” I laughed a lot when she told me that, then assured her that she wouldn’t have to campaign. I got engaged in July and started planning earlier this month. We’ve discussed wedding planning at length, but I don’t think I’ve “officially” asked her. That’s kinda how we roll, though.

Asked one in person and the other through facebook messenger.

They differ slightly based on whether or not the girl was single, but I printed this on the front of a card and then wrote a hand written note to each of them asking them to be my bridesmaid/MOH. I designed this myself at home.
