Katspe724: Aw thanks. I can’t imagine it any other way. I’m a lucky girl, I get to walk down the aisle with one handsome man who loves me to TWO handsome men that love me. IS IT NOVEMBER YET?!?!

I love all the ideas! My sister just assumed she would be my Maid/Matron of Honor. There are three of us and a long time ago we planned that we would each be able to take a turn and my other sister has already gotten married and I was her Maid/Matron of Honor. So we knew how it would go.

I “proposed” to her using the town square marquee – was one of my favorite parts of wedding planning

Maybe I am just not….sappy? enough, but it never even occurred to me to make a “thing” of asking my Bridesmaid or Best Man to be Bridesmaid or Best Man. One is my daughter, and two are my BFFs whom I’ve known for 30+ years. So when I posted that I was engaged, I followed it with a “Chris and Lori we’ll be talking soon.” They understood, and that was all it took. I talked to them each on the phone later just to catch up, but I didn’t make it any kind of surprise or anything.

edited to clarify: Lori is my Maid/Matron of Honor, but I never had to specify that either – she’s been my “primary” BFF since middle school, and she’s my daughter’s Godmother, and the last time I was engaged, she was slated to be the Maid/Matron of Honor, although I ended up cancelling that engagement. So I think I still haven’t even actually verbally said that she’s my Maid/Matron of Honor to her or my daughter or Chris, but everyone knows it nonetheless.

I live in Germany and it’s not particularly common to do the entire bridal party thing, but bride and groom each have a witness, which is basically the same thing as maid of honor and best man.

I don’t think many people ask their MOH/BM in a special way over here, but I got inspired on the Bee and was going to do something nice for mine (my best friend of 25 years). I was thinking of putting a bow on a pen and enjoying the confused look on her face for a while before telling her that she’d need it to sign our marriage certificate or something like that, but it went down a little differently after all. We hadn’t seen each other in over a week (which is a really long time for us) because life just got a little crazy and I just couldn’t wait any longer, so when we finally went to a party together I kinf of just blurted out the question. She started bawling, so did I, everyone was happy. 🙂

Katspe724: I think I spent $15 total on each girl. A lot of people don’t realize that any more with EBAY you can find people who do crafty items like etsy. You just have to look around for it. I got a great deal on the tanks and I even got myself one 🙂 I went through Amazon for the DVDS. I did ring pops inside the tins.

my maid of honor is my fiance’s sister so she already knew she would be. i got her a card on etsy that said “shit’s getting real, will you be my maid of honor?” along with an emergency kit, a tiara and a little makeup bag filled with goodies from sephora that i put in a glittery box that was our wedding color.
